Christina Lake Village hosted the Coast Riders Motorcycle Club's summer rally in July, 2013. Nothing was too much trouble for Scott and Paula, and we felt well looked after. Rooms were all clean and comfortable. Food was great, including a final buffet dinner.
Constant issues with unreliable staff have left Scott and Paula trying to do everything themselves with little additional help.
We look forward to returning in 2014.
(I completely fail to understand the negative comments made by several reviewers in August.)

This is the second year we have had our Family Reunion here. We find it extremely hard to find places that can accommodate a reunion setting with 50+ people. Paula was AMAZING!! From supplying grills,BBQ's, and sun shades to booking Tee Times for our family golf tournament, she helped us with every obstacle we encountered. The hotel was a short walk from a beautiful beach and the lake was amazing. We spent the afternoons at the lake and the mornings and evenings at the hotel. Our room was great and completely updated. It had a new bed and lots of room for a playpen. It was a great price for what we got. We will definitely return to Christina Lake and The Village!!
Thanks

Kevin

Christina Lake Resort is a destination accommodation for families, friends, and quiet times. A place of relaxation, comfort, and cleanliness. The owners of this resort are very hard working people, and are to be admired for all the endevors that they have accomplished, along with future accomplishments that they have in mind for this Resort. Christina Lake Village is the family ideal of a place to make camp. Whether it is in your tent in a nice treed campsite equipped with fire pits, and ample room for a tent, vehicle, etc. RV spots are close together and not far from the bath house that has coin hot showers for a dollar, and the restaurant and office are also close by. My family, and I stayed in both the campsite and the motel. This was due to thunderstorms, and heavy rain. Hence, the move from the campsite to the motel, which was a relief and comfort to have the necessary things to make a trip better dry than wet. Even though we are very conservative with our towels, new towels daily is a very nice service for families with children. I also enjoyed the 11p.m. quite time, as a vacation is supposedly time to relax and get some sleep. I know others have commented on the 11 p.m. quiet time but it is a decent time for all patrons who rent accommodations for the nights. The restaurant has amazing food, great service and a really neat store that is all organic. These options for my family, and I found they were very pleasing. Prices are somewhat lower than Vancouver on certain things. I find the thought that went into this type of store is to be seen, and thought worthy of praise.
All in all my family and I were very pleased with all that this resort had to offer. We hope to come stay again sometime as we love the area and the people.

We stayed in the hotel and at the campground. The hotel is extremely basic with less then the basics. Old dirty mattresses tiny TV and scuffs and marks all over the walls. The campground is pretty much a dirt parking lot with a lattice panel seperating the sites. No trees or bushes. The bathroom building has broken down vehicles parked in front of it and scrap wood all around the pool. We reserved a space in the restaurant for a large party to have breakfast and they only had one server. Not happy and won't be staying again. Our waitress did her best to keep up on her own.

We are sorry your stay did not meet your expectations. I'm sure you can appreciate that a vehicle never breaks down at the most opportune moment. Being in a smaller town sometimes makes things a little more challenging to deal with in a timely manner. I'm not sure what you mean about wood around the pool. We are installing a new fence to increase the size of the lounging area for our guests. We have planted 40 trees and over 300 other plants onto the property in the last couple of years, yes, the do take time to establish themselves We have been updating the motel accommodations since our purchase and put new beds in all the rooms this year. So we are unclear where this segment of your comment comes from. New TV's are on the list for this year and we will continue the painting which has been completed in 2/3's of the rooms. The reservation was originally made for 10 people so when nearly 50 of you showed up we brought in extra help as quickly as we could and found that the majority of the people were happy with their breakfast and the speed with which they were served. I understand you were part of the group that were reminded about the quiet after 11pm policy that you all agreed to when you checked in. We are sorry this dampened your party and perhaps put a bad spin on your whole weekend but we do have an obligation to respond to guest complaints when we get them and enforce the policies put forth for the property.

We stayed at Christina lake Village again this year as a host venue for our family reunion. We were on the lake during the day but had all our evening meals and some events at the Hotel. I can't say enough good things about how hard Paula worked to accomodate our requests. The rooms are very clean and a good value.

I contacted the owners over a 100 person reunion. They held the whole place for us. Our reunions haven't been cancelled in 12 years but this one was. The owners accepted that with grace and kindness when I know that there were some sacrifices on there part, the work they put into getting me all the information I kept asking for alone was so nice. I researched all over BC for the perfect reunion spot and came out with this beautiful property in the end. If you are considering staying here I would stop your search and just do it. We had a wonderful experience with them and WILL be going as a small family vacation so that we don't miss out on this hidden gem. Good luck and have a great vacation.

Room Tip: They have been renovating the whole place for a while, so rooms may have changed since you have last...

Thank you so much for taking the time to write this. Our property is home to several reunions and we were looking forward to seeing your family next year as well. It is unfortunate that you didn't have enough people register to continue with your plans. We are always happy to assist people with their plans. Seems 2 adults with 4 youngish children are running this operation so a lot of maintenance is not being done. Pulled in to find the office locked and a confusing sign to go to the "quasi" grocery store & restaurant for check in/the office. Rebar sticking out of concrete by the sidewalk made us wonder how many folks had been 'caught' on that. Pool was covered most of the time though sunny, hot weather. Washrooms for the campground are a disaster. .Toilets temperamental, sometimes plugged, no lock on some stalls. Showers are a mess and a hazard with flashing where you wouldn't expect it so tripping to be expected. No locks on some shower doors and gaps in others so don't count on privacy. The grounds are a dustbowl and in a lot of need of work. Internet is on a seek and find basis. The 11 p.m. 'curfew'/quiet time does not seem to mean anything as folks partying around a fire pit lonnng after 11 p.m. more than one night. Very disappointing. We travel a lot and Christina Lake Village is the worst spot we have ever stayed.

It saddens us to see this review from you Diane. You seemed to be having such an enjoyable week. Enjoying the WIFI access and doing your work in the comfort of our dining room, going for walks down to the beach and all your other enjoyable activities throughout the week of your stay. The bathrooms are cleaned on a daily basis every morning and maintenance is completed as quickly as possible, which is sometimes a little more difficult to do because of waiting for supplies to come in. We would have been happy to open the pool for you at any time as was explained at check in. We receive several comments on a daily basis as to how wonderful it is that a small area like Christina Lake has the selection of groceries we offer catering to many special dietary concerns as well as those looking to lessen the intake of artificial colours, flavours and preservatives in their lives. I also know you were having a terrific time with your family and am sorry that we had to remind you all that Quiet time is 11pm as we had received a complaint. The other folks around the campfire had also been given the same treatment. So again, we are sorry we shut down your gathering which seemed to completely change your attitude about your stay and now put you on a path to get other members of your group to do the same. You all signed the policy and we do enforce it as needed as this is a family resort.
