“A good choice!”

A very comfortable, clean and pleasant place to stay when visiting Bella Coola. The operators are very gracious and go out of their way to help you. The location is in close proximity of the town of Bella Coola and many, if not all, of the activities available.

A fantastic stay!
The rooms were nice, the scenery was great, and the breakfast was delightful.
We spent two nights here, and they were by far the best of the entire trip. Terry is wonderful! Very accommodating and respectful to guests.
I highly recommend staying here.

The exterior looks great, the interior looks fantastic, the view (you can eat your breakfast on the deck) is amazing, the room was clean en the staff is very friendly. The wifi was a bit wonky and it is a pity you can't make a reservation online, but the staff was very quick with its responses.

We would definitely recommend staying here if you are in Bella Coola! It's absolutely charming.

I've stayed in many places but the experience at Bella Coola's Eagle Lodge was spectacular. Such an amazing setting, really clean rooms and eating area with a great breakfast. The owner, Terry, was the kindest most respectful person I have ever met in the hotel business. He makes the stay worthwhile. We were there only two days but I wish it had been longer. Everyone should visit Bella Coola at least once. My two daughters and I had a great time. A great experience I'll never forget! Thank you, Jennifer

Room Tip: Choose a room on the main floor if you are disabled.

Our group of 4 (2 couples) stayed at Eagle Lodge for the start & end of a stay in the valley.
We arrived on a Sunday (as no connection from Vancouver on the Saturday afternoon) & were greeted at the airport by Annalee (one of the lodge's staff) for the short drive to the lodge. Our car rental didn't start until the following day, so we had no means of getting into the town for lunch, but Jen kindly made us up a packed lunch, which we ate out on the lawn, with the most stunning backdrop.
Whilst there are a couple of forest walks to the side of the lodge if, like us, you are staying in the valley for a few weeks, it's essential that you have a car to get around (or pay a fortune on organised outfitter trips!). We hired the 'suburban' from the lodge, which could cope with the unmade roads but they do not allow any of their vehicles to be taken up 'The Hill', so if you want to do the beautiful rainbow range hike, you will need to arrange alternative transport or go on a specific trip with one of the local tour organisers. Remember to take plenty of mosquito repellant, wherever you go in the valley & whatever the time of day.
Rooms were very comfortable - after a long day's trek hot power showers, comfy beds & a TV to catch up on the Olympics (with a beer from the fridge) was just what we needed - bliss!
We always looked forward to the evening meal & between us we must have sampled everything on the menu; the salmon was exceptional but it's very hard to pick a favourite, as everything was cooked to perfection by James (although Jen has to take credit for the raspberry 'to die for' pavlova).
We did try a couple of other places in town, as the lodge don't serve cooked lunches & the dining room is closed one evening a week, but the food wasn't a patch on the Eagle Lodge fayre.
However, the restaurant is also open to non-residents, so make sure you reserve a table, especially on a Friday, when they have entertainment!
There's also a small comfortable sitting room, but need to take you're own alcohol if you want to have a post-dinner drink, as Lodge's liquor license only covers specific areas (excellent selection of beers/wines can be purchased in town).
Annalee was a star - she had a great knowledge of the area and recommended things to do/places to go, to increase our chances of seeing bears. She also arranged a boat trip to the hot springs on our behalf.
All in all a very enjoyable & relaxing time - a perfect home from home.

Room Tip: Didn't see all the rooms but our group of 4 had 'Matt's' & 'Jim's' r...

Checked in and got a room at around 6pm (slow service to check in). Went out and checkout the town and came back around 8:00pm, at 8:30pm staff came by and told us that we would have to leave as the room was promised to someone else, they offered us another room with a single bed and a cot. I'm over 6 ft and about 215lbs, a cot will not do, not even an option for me. Was told that we could get a refund, stood and waited a long time for it. Staff did phone to see if there was room elsewhere in town though. Over all I was extremely disappointed in the service and being asked to leave due to an error on their part, would have to say that I would NOT recommend this place, never know if the same would happen to you

We would like to extend to you once again our apologies. Our desk staff that evening was very busy checking in guests with reservations and seating guests in the dining room and had no intention of trying to hold things up for you. We are in high season right now and it is extremely difficult to find accommodation in Bella Coola without having a prior reservation, especially on our ferry nights and going into bear season. Our desk staff was sincerely trying to help you both in accommodating you knowing that you might have a difficult time finding accommodation. She was very busy that evening and neglected to look at our bookings until later when she realized we only had the one single room available for you. We did have to honor our booking for the other guests since they had made reservations for that room specifically. She had gone to great lengths to find you alternate accommodation and this is why it took a little longer when leaving. She is truly sorry! We have never had this happen before and rest assured we take our bookings very seriously so this mishap is a first time occurrence. If you are traveling to Bella Coola during the high season we suggest making reservations prior to arrival since accommodation can be very difficult to find especially on ferry nights or late August into September when tourist numbers go up due to bear viewing season. Please take the time to read our other reviews from travellers who stayed with us. We hope that if you come to Bella Coola again you come stay with us and experience the great service that we have to offer. Once again we are very sorry.

This is truly the finest place to dine and relax in the entire valley, having lived in the valley before I can assure all readers there is no better establishment especially for the price! The restaraunt alone would bring even Ramsay to his knees!!! :)
