Just back from my second visit to Cabin Coed, Llandysol and we've had another great trip. The cabin is perfect as a base to explore this beautiful part of Wales and was ideal for our family of 4. Cabin Coed has everything you need to prepare for your days out and lovely to cosy up at night. Thanks to Wendy and Alan for having us again, I'm sure we'll see you again soon!
Caban Coed is a tranquil refuge away from the rat race. The cabin was extremely comfortable and had every amenity one would need for a stay here. My son and I were looking for properties in the Carmarthen area and this prove do the perfect base. New Quay, on the coast, and Lampeter were within a twenty minute drive. In fact we drove to Aberystwyth and back and even this wasn't too much.
Wendy and Alan made us both feel comfortable, in fact by the end of our stay we were almost like family members.
To add icing to the cake, to sit on the verandah and watch Red Kites, Buzzards and Swallows flying within metres of us was quite awesome.
We highly recommend staying here, but just make sure that when we want to return you don't book those dates.
If you want, or rather need a break, away from modern life, then this is the place for you. Bring enough basics to last you ie milk, bread etc as it isn't near any shops. Then relax!
If you are a nature lover then this is the place to be. We spotted over 30 bird species alone, including Kite and Tree Pipit (new to us!). The dark open sky let us see the International Space Station, 'shooting stars' and satellites; the moon was rising and setting quite early, but gave us a wonderful show, shining orange as it set.
Wendy and Alan are a lovely couple and give you a warm greeting and are there for you if there was anything you needed. Wendy left a delicious cake for us to have with our first cuppa in the cabin! It didn't last long!!!
Their dogs were friendly and waited for you to play with them; we were met with a wagging tail from Jack most mornings, especially if he received a fuss each time! Jack seemed to know when we were leaving on the last day as he serenaded us a goodbye!
Twenty minutes away was Newquay. We went Bottle-Nosed Dolphin watching with the Dolphin survey boat and they didn't disappoint as we saw about 12 of them! Then later in the week, 3 Dolphins were feeding in the Harbour, just a few metres away! Crowds of people were taking photographs and video footage of their activities. Do visit the Lime Crab take away on the harbour if you like squid!
The Iron Age Fort at Castell Henllys is a great place to visit. There are other places like Newcastle Emlyn (especially the walk by the river and castle ruins), Aberystwyth (the cliff railway) and the Cenarth Cheese Farm (their Brie is the best ever) if you are not beach-lovers, but if you are then there are some lovely beaches not too far away.
All in all, a smashing base to stay. A little piece of heaven on earth.
Perfect location and very quiet surroundings. The owners were very helpful and easy going and were around if needed.
The cabin was very comfortable and had everything needed to feel like home from home. We didn't want to leave!!
This is a second time we have stayed wendy and alan are lovelly well worth a try and we will be bk for a third time see you soon
Lovely cabin close to new Quay and look out for the Dolphins. See Kites flying over head and sit back and admire the views. Wendy & Alan made us so welcome and would definitely come back. Don't forget to ask Alan about his flags!
