“Home away from Home !”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013 for a stay in July 2013

This is a great place to stay. It has every kitchen item you could ever need. Bedrooms are very clean and comfortable - the upstairs / downstairs configuration suited us perfectly.Geat outdoor area and extensive lawns. If you are over 6 feet tall, you will soon remember about low beams ! TV, Internet and 'phone all worked perfectly. The Welcome Pack was very thoughtful and we used it all. Parcay Le Pins is a sleepy village with beautiful floral arrangements. Bread is sold in the village bakers - this is within walking distance of the property. Saumur is close with all the tourist amenities. We went to Louis de Grenelle winery tour in Saumur. A great tour, followed by tasting, for 2.5 Euros. Market in La Fleche is worth a visit. All in all, this property is ideal for a French countryside holiday. Grateful thanks to Carol and Ray again for all the thought they have put into this outstanding rental property.

“Idylic, tranquil, perfect to re-charge those batteries!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 3 October 2012 for a stay in August 2012

Myself & 4 friends stayed at this lovely, (very French!) property in August 2012, for 10 days... I could quite happily have stayed longer, but unfortunately, as for most of us, we have to get back on the wheel! When we first arrived, there were a few provisions to see us through until the morning, (bread, milk, bottle of wine!), which we thought was a lovely gesture! The house was very clean & well equipped. There were 2 double bedrooms with en-suites upstairs, & a bedroom downstairs with shower) It had a comfortable pull out bed, which was great for just me, or 2 kids, but 2 adults may find it a little small). It is a very rural area, ideal for just chilling out & re-charging your batteries. There's a bread shop (within walking distance for the able bodied), & fresh french bread is a must for the breakfast/dinner table! This property probably wouldn't suit families with small children as there wouldn't be a lot for them to do. We really enjoyed our stay there & we certainly hope to go back

“An Idyllic Retreat set in a delightfully quiet area of the Loire Valley!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 September 2012 for a stay in August 2012

I stayed here in the middle of August with my husband, sister and two of our friends.
The Gite is set on the edge of the lovely quiet village of Parcay les Pins. It has been carefully restored and furnished in a comfortable and authentic style. We made full use of the kitchen equipment and have to say there was absolutely nothing left out! Hair dryers in each bedroom and even two fridges in the kitchen - so we had one for the white wine, beer, tonic waters and juices. The weather was fantastic from the day we arrived so we were able to make use of the lovely BBQ on a few occasions as we celebrated two birthdays whilst there.
Sitting outside on the graveled patio reading our books with pure blue skies and the occasional sound of chickens in the background and the local town clock striking the hour slowed our pace of life down and was just perfect! Carol and Ray the owners were to hand if needed and very informative of places to visit and where to shop etc - when we arrived which was late at night it was lovely to find that they had left us a welcome pack of necessities needed for our breakfast the next day - very thoughtful and truly appreciated!! We would definitely recommend this as a holiday getaway if you are looking for tranquility and peace. Can't wait for a return visit!

“A peaceful retreat”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 July 2012 for a stay in June 2012

The cottage is set in an ideal, peaceful and tranquil setting, and is very comfortable and well equipped with everything you could need. Carol and Ray were so very helpful with information before the actual holiday, then shared their extensive local knowledge when we met them in person. Sitting outside at any time of the day was a peaceful treat, with birdsong all around. Le Haut Pins is ideally located for all the Loire has to offer in the way of Chateau's, towns, wine tasting and beautiful countryside. We hope one day to go back and enjoy this lovely cottage again in this wonderful area.
