I have only one complaint about The Old Rectory. The price- it's too low.

The house is beautiful. The family are friendly, discrete, and helpful. The rooms are stunning, and filled with so many small touches that really make this feel different. From home made biscuits and a decanter of sherry in the bedrooms to a beautiful breakfast, everything has been thought of. I could gush about the great bathrooms, the comfortable beds, the lovely garden, the friendly dogs (who keep out of the dining room), the restaurant quality food... but I'll just say- GO.

Room Tip: They're all perfect.

We stayed at the Old Rectory as part of a 'significant birthday' celebration. Everything is thought of, the room was beautiful and extremely comfortable (we stayed in the Green Room), the welcoming afternoon tea served in the drawing room was excellent. Izzy is incredibly welcoming as well. We also had dinner on the first evening which was delicious. I would thorougly recommend a stay here, in fact we have already booked to go back, with dinner on both nights.

We stayed with Izzy and Andy as part of a big anniversary celebration. We had a super two nights - it was a little like staying with friends but with the great comfort and excellent food of a starred hotel. We slept in the Green Room - great bathroom and an extremely comfortable bed. Breakfast was an experience - with all local produce used including eggs from their own hens and ducks. Izzy cooked us a delicious dinner one night - we felt really spoilt. The Old Rectory is within an easy drive of Ludlow which of course is a fascinating town and, when the weather is clement there is good walking around. I have run out of superlatives! Thanks to both Izzy and Andy - we wish you well for the future of your business.

Room Tip: The Green Room was excellent.

This was the third time that my wife and I had made the trip from London to Ludlow and as ever it was a trip worth making. From the moment we arrived and sat in the drawing room to tuck into the lucious victoria sponge cake that Izzy had made, to the fabulous 3 course dinner Izzy also made that night (which was started with a bottle of fizz with Andy and Izzy in front of the roaring log fire), to the lavish breakfast (a range of local and fresh fruit, museli, nuts and the biggest full English I have ever eaten) we felt pampered throughout. We stayed in the Green Room which is pure luxury - a bed that you literally climb onto too and instantly relax, a wonderful roll top bath and a shower from heaven. We will be back again!

Room Tip: Green Room for the ultimate in luxury!

My husband and I booked a night at The Old Rectory whilst house-hunting in the area and what a strike of luck they had a room! Not sure we'd have been as lucky in Peak season! The B and B was extremely well-run, clearly by a couple who know what makes a place stand out: relaxed, friendly hosts, immaculately clean, wonderful setting, amazingly comfortable bed, super carrot cake and tea in front of the fire lit just for us, delicious breakfast and those special little extras in the rooms...homemade biscuits, decaf coffee, massive selection of teas, good quality toiletries, chocolates. Would definitely stay again if in the area and if there were such a thing as a 'sixth star', this place would be getting it from me.

Thanks for your great review - it almost had me blushing. Do come again when you're up house hunting - you couldn't have chosen a better area and when you do find somewhere to live you never know - we may be neighbours!

We enjoyed a lovely two nights at the Old Rectory and found the owners extremely welcoming and very helpful. Our room was very spacious and quiet and we appreciated all the little touches like afternoon tea on arrival, sherry, chocolates and homemade cookies in our room. Breakfast was superb with plenty of choice. The dogs deserve a mention, as they too are very friendly!

Four of us stayed here as part of a UK cycling adventure. Everything about the place was really well thought out and of a high standard. We arrived quite late and flustered but they didn't mind. We paid extra for supper which must be done too. We only stayed one night as we had to continue our trip but we will return in the future and are looking forward to it! The only negative for us was finding the place, but it would probably be much easier in a car than on a bicycle.

We're so glad you enjoyed your stay at The Old Rectory even though it was short. We are perfectly placed for walking, cycling or riding holidays situated on just off The Jack Mytton bridleway and the Shropshire Way footpath.
We can be difficult to find if you rely on sat nav, but there are good directions on our website and the good old OS map works well too.
Please do come again we would love to see you!
