Spent 2 nights here and we were impressed with the quality & service. Food was excellent although the one evening meal was rather expensive (despite pre-dinner bubbly on the terrace). Breakfasts were lovely. We had the Blue room which is large but has a couple of drawbacks - the ensuite only has a saniflo WC and the only wardrobe is half full of the owners personal clothes. There is also no heated rail to dry towels. However overall the experience was good.

Thank you for taking the trouble to write your kind review. We are so glad you enjoyed your stay and dinner on on of the evenings. The cost of dinner is £35.00 per person which includes a glass of fizz and canapés to begin, followed by an amuse bouche, a starter, a main course and dessert with coffee and chocolates to finish.
The Blue Room is our middle priced room. It does, I'm afraid have a saniflo loo - we had no choice as the house is a listed building and we could not put more drain pipes in, however it is a top of the range saniflo and as yet we have had no problems with it. The bathroom does have a heated towel rail - perhaps it was not switched on.... as a matter of course we either dry or replace guest towels daily.

As for the large double wardrobe - one half of it is kept locked to house some of my husband's old army uniforms!
We do hope to see you again in the future.

The Old Rectory is, by a distance, the best British bed and breakfast I have ever stayed in. It had everything- plush furnishings, a warm welcome, exquisite attention to detail (a hot water bottle discretely tucked into your bed while you are at dinner, smart toiletries, homemade biscuits in the rooms) and a faultless breakfast. Book the Yellow Room if you can- it has a wonderful bathroom.

We returned to the Old Rectory earlier this year (march) and had the same wonderful stay. Our hosts were as welcoming as ever, and the hospitality superb. We can heartily recommend this place. After long days out cycling we were wined and dined to very high standards and slept in a big fat comfy bed.
We will be going back.....

Stayed end of June. Old Rectory is on its own and a drive away from Ludlow, but is well worth a visit. Owner was very helpful by suggesting beforehand decent restaurants in the area and advising us that we should make reservations, as we were staying Friday and Saturday nights. Nearby pub the Boyne Arms was very good. The Thai restaurant which was our other choice was also a good meal.
Owners were very welcoming and afternoon tea on the terrace which included a wonderful cake was extremely pleasant and memorable. The rooms and bathrooms were large, nicely decorated and very clean. Loved everything about it and can't fault it at all. Breakfasts were excellent. If you want an enjoyable and very relaxing place to stay-this is for you.

Room Tip: Green and blue rooms both have huge en suites. Yellow room has own bathroom on landing close by.

Just spent a great weekend at the Old Rectory B&B. It was more expensive that other B&B's however it was well worth the money. We had the Green Room and couldn't fault it. I would recommend this B&B to anyone.

We have just spent two nights at this beautiful B&B with old friends. Everything about this place is as you would wish for, from the warm welcome with tea and homemade cake on the terrace, sumptuous bedrooms and bathrooms and the full English breakfast. We stayed in the blue room which, like the rest of the house, was immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. The only problem we had was getting up in the morning from the fantastically comfortable bed. If you are looking for somewhere peaceful and relaxing to stay whilst you explore Ludlow and the surrounding area we enthusiastically recommend the Old Rectory. Our only regret is that we did not take the opportunity to dine in with our hosts Issy and Andrew, maybe next time. .....

Room Tip: The blue room and the green room are equally as good and both have luxury bathrooms with both shower...

The really is nothing to criticise here the setting is classic Shropshire and the houset is very beautiful inside and out. Our room (the blue room) was large and immaculate with a comfortable sofa, and a fantastic bed with was almost too good to get out of. Bathroom was large and once again well appointed. We were greeted warmly and genuinely and enjoyed tea and a very good carrot cake on the terrace. The tranquility here can not be exaggerated it is wonderful. The dogs, Tarmac and Tilly were delightful. This is as good as it gets.

Room Tip: Blue room is a suite and highly recommended, but we are sure the others will also be top notch, yell...
