“The Best Bed and Breakfast We Have Stayed At. Tony and Paula (Merseyside)”
Reviewed 2 September 2010

Our stay at this Beautiful Old Rectory has been a joy from beginning to end.We chose the Green Room which was exquisite with its antique furniture and very comfortable Super Kingsize Bed. Andy and Izzy have been wonderful Hosts and made us very welcome into their truly loverly home. Izzy's Cuisine reflects her love of fine cooking with amazing food of true freshness and amazing flavour , her puddings are to die for.Andy is a charming host and his knowledge in the history of the Wheathill area was very interesting. The Old Rectory is located within easy reach of Ludlow and also Bridgnorth Station for The Severn Valley Railway which is well worth a ride on with its wonderful scenic views. A special mention for Tarmac the famlly dog who greeted us warmly each time we met him. We have returned home pampered and refreshed . Tony and Paula (Merseyside). (Recommend logging on to THE OLD RECTORY WHEATHILL web page which is very good and was instumental in our booking)

We have just stayed at The Old Rectory in Wheathill near Ludlow - What a find!!!!! This place is fantastic, from the welcome when you arrived from Izzy and Andy and Tarmac the gorgeous black labrador to the stunning setting it was excellent. For £80 per night this was 5* all the way. We stayed in the Blue Room, Newly refurbished contemporary rooms, massive kingsize beds and elegant bathrooms, really no expense has been spared. The B&B is set in 7 acres and is so quiet and relaxing. We had great breakfasts, full English with all the trimmings and good quality produce, cake and tea in the afternoons. This was a great base to explore Shropshire. Ludlow is 8 miles away and we are glad we stayed here rather than in town as it gets quite busy, this was a paradise away from the hussle and bustle! Izzy also offers food in the evenings which again was a treat, BYO wine and and a 3 course meal was excellent for £50 for the 2 of us we thought was great value. Much of the produce is grown on the estate-yum!! We can find a single fault with the place and will definately go back, thanks Izzy, Andy and Tarmac!!!! Stuart and Rwth x :-)

Beautiful home and grounds we received a warm welcome from the hosts Izzy and Andy. Excellent cream tea everything home made followed by a tour around the gardens led by the friendly Labrador. We stayed in the Green room which had all the luxuries necessary for a high quality break. Izzy had thought of everything including fresh flowers, books and home made buiscuits.
We enjoyed an excellent evening meal with fresh produce from the garden and enjoyed the log burning stove which Andy had lit to take the chill off the evening.
A peaceful location all very relaxed, slightly off the main road but well worth the effort. Close to Ludlow.
Charming hosts who made us most welcome. A delightful place to stay we were sorry to leave.
Highly recommended.
