Go there for the best view of the city of Vancouver. There is a lookout car park half way up the mountain.

Excellent place for family recreation and fun, magnificent views of mountains and ocean, fresh air, simply whole day fun. For more details go to http://cypressmountain.com/activities .Tons of packed snow and winter activities for everybody: Alpine, Nordic, Snowshoeing. On January 12th 2013, beautiful sunny morning. It was minus 6 Celsius-perfect temperature. We went Snowshoeing. Trails are well marked and in good shape, lots of people on trails. Older, younger, families etc. It is safe and .Everything was excellent except very poor organization and numerous line ups. We’ve lost 2 hours in lines that morning
1. Search for parking-there is not enough parking at the Nordic base-so you need to drive further toward alpine area and find parking and then walk back. If you are with kids-not a good idea
2. Buy a ticket-line up. $10 for access and 16 for snowshoe rental. Pay both at the same time to speed up your snowshoe rental
3. Rent a snowshoe- HUGE line up. At the same lineup is snowshoe return, so you can imagine people walking in all directions, confusion etc
4. If you need bathroom; good luck that will be your 4th lineup for the morning
5. At the end there is line up for rental return. You must return snowshoes by 3:30 pm. Do not ask why, it is still daylight, lots of people on the mountain but………
How to avoid this?
1. Buy yourself a pair of snowshoes; be there no later than 9:00 a.m . and you will definitely have GREAT time. Price of snowshoes will pay off your time in 5 lineups
2. If you do not want to buy snowshoes and if you come late, drive and report that you just doing drop off. Let your wife/friend/partner line up for tickets and you drive for parking and walk back. That will save you some time and frustration

The slopes in this station are shorts but wnderful. Good snow quality and amazing views. Skiing around the trees and seeing the sea and the islands from the slopes.
The Provincial PArk is close to Vancouver, only 15 minutes by car and there are so many different hiking trails and nice views.

This is well worth the drive in either winter or summer. Unlike Grouse Mountain, access is free (but I believe you have to pay for parking). The area is good for both downhill and cross-country skiing, and hiking if there's no snow. In the winter, there's a warming hut with hot drinks. The view is lovely! Just don't go if it's really raining or you won't see much.
