“CLOSE to Vancouver but BAD wifi and rude staff”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 August 2013

Can't believe how close this is to Stanley Park. We will ride bikes to do all our sightseeing, so location is great. However, if you need wifi for anything it is not reliable and they are terribly rude if you ask for help even ignoring you standing at the counter. Numerous people are wondering around on different devices trying to get service so it's not just me.

This RV park is centrally located to Vancouver which makes it ideal for people looking to camp and visit Vancouver. The site are all very close to each other but no big deal since you are not there to spend you whole day. Bathroom facility are clean and wi-fi worked great.

There is little choice for an RV park within a reasonable distance to Vancouver city so were not sure of what to expect, but were indeed pleasantly surprised. A good clean park with excellent , facilities clean modern washrooms & showers, laundry TV room. Wi Fi access, hot tub & pool. The staff were very friendly & helpful at reception. We decided to leave a day early due to a change in plans and there was no quibble & they refunded the days charge without question. You will need to get transport to get into the city proper but buses are nearby. Be warned though you need the right coins notes cannot be taken. On our first journey we did not know this nor had the sufficient coins only notes so the bus driver god bless him told us to pay on our next journey. Hiring bikes is probably the other option. On the whole Vancouver bus drivers were a real credit to the city, hope they get paid accordingly A good eating place 5-10 mins away is the White Spot near the shopping mall (the mall was having worked done when we were there so limited accedd). It is a good 15-20 mins walkover the bridge to Stanley park area the greenery before the city.

I spent a couple nights tenting at this campground during a Western Canada road trip. The options for camping in the Vancouver area are limited; however, this location was actually perfect for my purposes.
Upon arriving we were skeptical considering the neighbourhood you ride through to get here and the man who approached immediately and asked "how much is that bike worth? $50,000?" When I asked the front counter about security, she said that they have three police agencies and private security which actually made me feel worse rather than the intended better. However, that initial impression aside, this campground was fine.
The tenting spots are hit and miss for side, trees, and shade. The site we had barely fit a tent, picnic table and 2 motorcycles. If someone has a large tent and regular size vehicle, the pickings may be slimmer.
The facilities were good. There was laundry mat available. The bathrooms and showers were very clean and modern. If you wanted to charge electronics, you were limited to the shower area and perhaps the laundry (I didn't make it up that far). There is no services in the immediate area, but you are in Vancouver so Denny's, gas station, convenience stores are a short drive away.
The location couldn't be beat. On the same road to get to Capilano suspension bridge and Grouse mountain and a quick turn to get to Stanley Park and downtown Vancouver.
The campground is under the Lions Gate Bridge so there is some road nose, which may be better or worse depending on your site location in the campground.
They also have a free bike (vehicle) wash too. and a pool that I didn't use so can't comment.
They don't take reservations for tenting so I'm not sure if they would ever be "full" for tents.
I would recommend. Convenient, affordable, clean, and friendly.

We were pleasantly surprised by this park, since it is close to downtown Vancouver and the photos were not very flattering. We enjoyed the the central location as it was within walking distance of the river, a hiking/biking trail, grocery store, restaurants, and a shopping mall. There was very little traffic noise, despite it's proximity to the Lion's Gate Bridge and major highways. The spaces were tight-- all must but backed into, but the landscaping was placed in a way that some privacy was provided. The staff was friendly and helpful and the entire place was clean. There is a small dog area, and it was well maintained. The pool and hot tub were nice amenities, but the wifi is spotty. The central location is hard to beat.

Very well kept, clean park, with wonderful restrooms and showers, pool hot tub and laundry. The sites are narrow but to be expected in the centre of a major city. They have level concrete pads and rear privacy hedges. Walking distance to a major shopping mall with all services. A reasonable walk to the ocean as well. The park was 2/3 full at the end of May so reservations are likely necessary in summer. Under new management for the past couple of years and they have made many improvements. Staff was friendly and helpful. Not cheap but worth the money. Offers Good Sam discount. Stayed in a class c motor home but park had several class a and fifth wheels. All sites seem to be back ins.

I was a bit sceptical about this site due to its proximity to Lions Gate Bridge, but there was almost no traffic noise to be heard at all. The park is clean and well maintained, with a pool, childrens playground, and a rather small dog park (just a little doggie toilet actually). The washrooms are clean, and I never had to wait for a shower stall.

The sites are all back in, which I didn't care for as I hadn't driven a large vehicle for some 25 years before this trip, but I managed it without any damage... The site prices I found a bit on the high side, but as there are not that many RV sites in greater Vancouver you just have to bite the bullet.
