“A taste O the westcoast at the knees of the mighty Rockies...”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 December 2013

A wonderful little rustic rancher town with a historic street and old hotels and charming shops... add to that a night at Schooners! An old house made into a ship going craft offers the best seafood this side of the English Bay! Ice cold oysters on the half shell, sautéed shrimp done gently with garlic and butter and herbs... a combination pot of steamed mussels and clams with crusty bread to dip into the buttery, flavor filled broth, and a Boston Clam chowder by cup or bowl that is creamy, gently blended with seafood and herbs and a hint of white wine in the base. Along with a robust wine, this amazing dinner cost only eighty dollars and that was with wine and two irish coffees to cleanse the palate. We would go far to have such a dinner, get treated with such respect and have seafood done with such care and excellence. A gem in the heart of a small town that is coastal excellence without being anywhere near a coast!

“Great fish and chips in Cochrane”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 8 July 2013

I have eaten several times at this charming seafood restaurant on main street in Cochrane AB. Lorne, the owner/chef, never fails to prepare great seafood. Service is always friendly and helpful. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Cochrane.

“Over-priced mediocrity.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 June 2013

Nothing spectacular at all about the food. In fact, very limited choices for a place that specializes in seafood. The only thing worse than the calamari was the tzatziki sauce, which was tasteless and inedible. I did like their clam strips, however.

“Great food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 May 2013

I come here regularily and enjoy their fresh fish dishes. I get my fish pan fried instead of deep fried and the flavour is wonderful. They have the best french fries I've had and the service is friendly and prompt. Highly recommended!

“Very good for not being seaside”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 April 2013 via mobile

This place is a little hidden gem in Rural Redneck Alberta. Oysters are to die for and crab cakes even better!! Definitely worth checking out and I will be returning
