This trip was amazing. We saw a lot of whales and other wild life (bears, seals, sea-lion, etc.), even a group of Orka's in action attacking a sea-lion. Spectacular!
Above all this nature, the perfect and kind service of Toddy and her husband stoud out: great meal and lots of smiles!

A 5-hour luxury cruise and dining experience that is well worth the extra expense. Al and Toddy were informative and fun hosts, that know the best places to go to see West Coast wildlife up close - bald eagle, colonies of stellar sea lions & harbour seal, and whales surfacing just off the boat. You never felt rushed or crowded like on other local tours. Relax in beautiful lounge chairs with a free beverage. Keep warm under cozy blankets or in covered cabins if the weather turns chilly - Remember August is the fog month on the West coast so dress warm!. Those other whaling tours don't give a washroom, free binocular use, or a large boat with rough water stabilizers built in. This is a great boat for photographers! Bring a lunch or opt for the fine dining lunch for $22 each, catered by a local fine food restaurant. You could even buy beer or wine too. Eating our Salmon lunch in a quiet Barkley Sound cove as kayakers paddled among the scenic islands was a memorable experience. Thank you Archipelago Cruises for making a foggy day into thrilling outdoors excursion to be remembered!

Just got back to the Hotel after a wonderful day out on the boat with Al and Toddy our wonderful hosts! We saw 2 grey whales and a humpback, lots of seals, a pod of dolphin and eagles in every position you can imagine. No bears today unfortunately.
We had a fabulous lunch on board as we watched small fish jumping out of the water. The day was cool and it started out damp but if you dress accordingly it won't bother you. Plus they provide rain ponchos, blankets and gloves to help keep you warm.
I loved the fact that it was a small gathering of people which made seeing the wildlife a pleasure as we could all see instead of fighting to get to the sides as I have done on larger boats.
These hosts respect the environment and the animals. They shared with us their sorrow as the sea otter that they usually go to observe has been missing and presumed killed by the Orcas it was last seen with.
I could have stayed out longer in their beautiful yacht as it made being on the water a definite pleasurable experience.

Possibly one of the best trips Ian and I have taken - simply perfect! Al and Toddy are so knowledgeable and engaging. The scenery and wildlife was fantastic and it is clear Al and Toddy have a genuine love and joy for the history and culture of the area as well as its wildlife.
