We dined at the Offshore Seafood restaurant twice during our four night stay in Ucluelet. On the first visit they were very busy for dinner and we didn't know we could have made a reservation. We decided to wait for a table. It took about 30 minutes but the wait staff offered us drinks while we waited and made a point to acknowledge us during the wait so we knew we weren't forgotten about, which was nice. When we sat down the service was surprisingly prompt for how busy they were. We had the crab dip, which was absolutely delicious, and the crab cakes, which were quite bready but tasted okay. We also had the crab dinner. The crab was delicious! Perfectly cooked both nights. The side to the crab dinner is a huge, and I mean huge, serving of caesar salad. I've never seen such a portion. It was very good but a little too much. We would definitely recommend giving this restaurant a try while in Ucluelet.

The 2 staff who were trying to help us were very kind. The food was very disappointing. I had a salad with baby shrimp and noodles in a small bowl. This was quite tasteless. Also we ordered soup. The soup was supposed to be one from the menu board and when it came much after the salad it was different and we chose not to have it. The seafood bowl was ok but again very bland. We chose this place based on the menu. We were very disappointed and the price was expensive considering the meal itself.

I cannot ever recall walking out of a restaurant but I did in this case. Service was awful!! It shouldn't take 10 minutes for someone to even notice you've been seated. And waiting another 20 minutes for a drink and to be told that they don't have what you ordered is inexcusable. I walked out after that. My sense was this was not the wait staff's fault but management's. Make sure you have enough staff to handle the busy summer season.

We started with the daily appetizer which was creatively presented and delicious. Nice selection of drinks on offer. 2 of the group had the seafood hot pot which they enjoyed, 1 had the pad Thai which was beautifully presented but was extremely spicy. Maybe a heads up from the server? The final main was the halibut which was outstanding with local carmalized veggies. No desserts as we were stuffed! Servers were OK mostly chatting among themselves. Lovely location lots of parking. I agree with Quidodog a kids menu would be helpful.

Since our last visit 3 years ago, the restaurant moved to a new location. Ample patio space, plus a bigger dining room and taking reservations made it easier to get a table. The crab dip is a delightful combination of cheese, herbs and crab. If you are OK working during your dinner, the dungeness crab is a treat. The sushi rolls are 8 pieces and fresh! Because the rolls are all prepared to order, be aware that this is not a fast meal. But if you are on vacation and have no time boundaries-this is a delicious restaurant

Thank glu
