Owner description: The Wild Pacific Trail is located in Ucluelet and is a seven phase trail system skirting the rugged cliffs and shoreline of the west coast of Vancouver Island. Overlooking Barkley Sound and the Broken Group Islands to the east and the open Pacific Ocean to the south and west, it offers spectacular shoreline panoramas and seaward vistas through ancient cedar and spruce-framed viewing platforms constructed on the best headlands along the route.

Went and did the wild pacific trail for 6 km. Easy to pick how long and where you want to hike. Very well maintained and with relatively easy grades. Lots of benches and look out points to take pictures with and never felt crowded. As this trail is built and maintained by volunteers don't forget a few bills as a donation to help them maintain the trail to such a high standard. Helps to have the gravel paths especially in the moist/wet weather as you don't have to navigate mud and slippery sections. Offers a much different perspective than long beach as you get to look at the rocks and waves and dramatic nature of the area.

Wild Pacific Rim trails are great! All are well constructed with helpful interpretive signs. Paths require some uphill trekking and just take your time--all is doable!!! Awesome views with many places to stop and enjoy the views!!!

This was the best trail I was on during my stay! Make sure to do the lighthouse loop in the am and hit the bluffs on the northern end for sunset.

This was a great short walk - we did the lighthouse loop, and on the advice of resort staff, did it anti-clockwise. The views were spectacular, with lots of great spots for taking photos. We were lucky enough to see a steller's jay and a racoon towards the end of our walk.

Uclulet and its partners are to be commended for creating this wonderful community asset. Its creation was a major factor in our decision a few years back to switch the focal point of our regular visits to the West Coast from Tofino to Uclulet.

This trail is very special indeed - the adjacent National Park Reserve has nothing comparable. The trail offers unparalleled access to the rugged rocky shoreline (as opposed to the sandy beaches) that characterizes this coastline. There's always something going on along the route, both in the forest and on the shoreline itself. Stormwatching along this trail is unrivalled in season.

The trail is easy walking - a few climbs, but nothing too strenuous, and there are plenty of benches with great viewpoints along the way. The trail has recently been extended, and the new sections are just as worthwhile as the previous stretches.

This trail will be a major factor in keeping us coming back to Uclulet for years to come!
