This was our first B&B and Bostrom's will be very difficult to top indeed! Judy even had my birthday cake in the oven when we arrived! Her wealth of local knowledge was invaluable to help us enjoy the Ucluelet and Tofino areas.

The back and lower decks offer an amazing ocean view where we even spotted a grey whale. If you are looking for tranquility, this is the place. Thank-you Judy

Thank-you for a wonderful review. After almost 20 years in this house, I still love staring at that view. We are planning on putting a webcam up this winter so you can enjoy the view, and the winter storms from home. I'll email you when it is up and running.

Judy Bostrom outfitted us immediately on arrival with rain gear "just in case of rain" and gave us a tour around their picturesque and well equipped property.
Even although it rained on our arrival, we took a wet, but protected hike with the rain gear, on the nature trail near the property, then dinner at the local restaurant, then jumped into the hot tub to shake off the chill. It was wonderful.
Great food for breakfast and excellent amenities....Well done Judy and Gary

In my many years of travel this was the best B&B i have stayed at. Host Judy leaves nothing
to not meet your needs from spa to sauna to a bed foot warmer. The breakfast room had everything from computer to billards and everything to make your own meals post breakfast.
Baxter ( second in command pooch)was correct when he muttered who was his favorite mom.
We had a super 3 days.

Room Tip: All 3 rooms are well set up with a view on the ocean.

"The Best B&B" Wow! Thanks!
In fact Baxter is working very hard to become the overall commander. I must defend my post! :)

We didn't want to leave Bostrom's which certainly ranks as among the very best of all accommodation with the most attentive hosts we have stayed in after many years of family travel.
Even before we arrived Judy helped us with suggestions for other British Columbian B&Bs and pages of useful ideas for things to do on the Island. Judy's breakfasts are amazing works of culinary art and are very imaginative and tasty. The facilities are great for evening entertainment and there are countless things you can borrow for your trips out. The west coast weather even came good for a couple of memorable sunsets; although unfortunately the rain didn't hold off for long enough to light the fire pit, but a hot tub and sauna in the rain was great fun especially with the fabulous jungle themed sauna robes and loofahs. Judy was such an energetic, fun hostess who really took the time to make suggestions and understand what we might be interested in. Oh, and we mustn't forget the cookies; my daughter and I agreed that sitting on the lower Oceanside deck eating freshly-made orange chocolate cookies (can we vote for these separately?) as an eagle soared inches from our heads was one of the best life experiences ever. Ucluelet is a sweet little town with enough facilities, leisure, eating and shopping options for a short stay.
We know we will return one day. In the meantime our hot bellied bear will remind us of beautiful Bostrom's. Thank you!

Room Tip: We were in the Pacific room which has an ensuite bathroom with heated floor and is next to the Sauna...

I hope you got the cookie recipe I sent. I'll be putting it on my website just in case you missed it. Please dream of the ocean side deck and the eagles soaring as you eat them at home!

This is one of those places that turns out to be even better than you hoped it could be. The views and the location are incredible, serene and quiet, and the Inn is truly lovely, but Judy's hospitality is what really makes it stand out from all the other 5 star B&Bs you can choose.

The Inn itself is small and intimate, but in a really good way. It is comfortable and you are immediately at ease there, the way you might be upon returning to stay with old friends. This is not to say that you need to do a thing for yourself (unless you want to, and then Judy is wonderful at letting you have your space) but that the place is so welcoming and she has thought of everything. There is no need to settle in. You just feel immediately at home in your new surroundings.

We were actually there the same time as the last reviewers and had a marathon game of darts with them in the common area. Because it is small, it is really easy to get to know the other guests. But, for those of you who want your space, there is plenty of that to be had. A walk down the stairs to the gorgeous shoreline and you are completely alone. Or one flight up to the hot tub late at night and for a romantic look at the stars. Or sit on the patio in your own little enclave.

And I need to mention her attention to food sensitivities and dietary restrictions. Most of the places we have stayed at are more than willing to work with my food limitations. Some are even incredibly gracious and put a lot of time into making delicious meals around them. But Judy told me she actually looks forward to folks with food sensitivities because it forces her to try new recipes and she loves the challenge. How is that for amazing? My husband and both LOVED our meals each day. OMG were they good. Fresh juice smoothies each morning, some fruit, and then a completely awesome main dish.

As the previous reviewer said, everything is there for your use. Beach towels, check. Rain hats and jackets, check. Beach chairs, check. Picnic basket, razors, shaving cream, early morning coffee, tea, cookies, a fridge of your own for snacks, towels to wear up to the hot tub, check check check.

I could go on but you get the idea. :) We absolutely, positively loved staying here. And are so glad to have met Judy. She is such a pleasure, and a lovely host.

One of the best parts about opening up my house as a B&B is the laughter that fills my house from the conversations, the dart and snooker tournaments, or over breakfast.I can buy art, I can buy flowers, I can buy all sorts of things, but laughter is something that just can't be bought. Thanks for filling up my house. When I clean up after the season I will make sure to leave your fun and laughter in the corners for others to find.

We spent four nights with the Bostroms, in the Trail Suite which is completely private and fully equipped with a mini-kitchen, very comfortable furniture and thoroughly cozy atmosphere.

We've stayed at many B&B establishments over the years, in France, Sweden, Norway and the United Kingdom. Some were fantastic but the Bostrom B&B beats them all, hands down.

Judy and Gary Bostrom are astonishingly hospitable and welcoming. More, they're a deep well of information about local recreational opportunities, places to eat, history and more.

The common room of the house is equipped with a variety of top quality recreational gear for evenings in. For daytime missions, picnicking gear is available to guests, as well as umbrellas for those keen on going out in the rain.

Breakfasts were competently prepared, imaginative, tasty and varied day-by-day. Judy bends over backward to accommodate special dietary requirements.

The B&B is beautifully located with a sweeping view, enjoyable from a large and comfortably furnished deck. A path leads to another, lower deck where the rise and fall of the tide can be watched more closely, with accompanying cycles of visiting wildlife.

Hats off to the Bostroms; bravo!
