“No Better Place”

You could not wish for a warmer welcome than you receive from Judy. All the amenities you could wish for are available to her guests including a hot tub, sauna, a common room where you can make yourself a drink (with lovely home-baked cookies available), and all the reference books you could wish for. Our room was extremely comfortable with a lovely ensuite. Now for the view, wow, wow, and double wow. What a view to wake up to every morning and the opportunity to eat your breakfast on the balcony which stretches the length of the property. There are steps down to a small beach area from where you can swim. Really did not want to leave this slice of heaven. Thank you so much Judy for making our two nights so enjoyable. It was indeed a pleasure.

So pleased that you enjoyed your stay with us. We see the view every day and it is only when folk like you make us see it with new eyes that we appreciate it all over again. Thank-you for taking the time to write a review and for helping us to see our little bit of the world with new eyes.

We arrived at the place in the afternoon and Judy showed us all the place. I have never thought about having breakfast as a kind of menu, but I really learnt a different style at this place. It starts with a home-made juice followed by fruit and joghurt combination followed by a main dish. And this breakfast menu was different every day. Judy stayed with the guests for the breakfast and gave many hints on what to do around the area. She will drive you also to places, so you can walk from there back to the B&B. Her recommendations for a dinner place were very helpful and pointed to the right places with excellent food.

We like to treat folk with breakfasts that are different from what you might normally eat. I'm so pleased that you enjoyed them.
It was my pleasure to drop you off to the far end of the Wild Pacific Trail so that you could hike back to the B&B. Cutting out the return 5 km on the way back leaves folk free to see and do more; even if that more is sitting on the lower deck and enjoying watching the tide come in and go out again. So much to see and do!

My stay with my boyfriend was beyond compare one of the best vacations and the highlight of our trip. I've stayed at bed and breakfasts across Europe and work in the hotel industry, but Jusy and her husband blew us away with their friendly attitude and phenomenal touches. From the heated mattress and iPods and iPod docks in the rooms to the sumptuous breakfasts every detail was accounted for. We changed the rest of our trip around just to stay an extra two days. Definitely stay in the Trail suite, it's gorgeous. We are already anxiously planning our next getaway here. Thank you so much!

We had the privilege of staying 2 nights at Judy and Gary's beautiful B&B. We were thoroughly impressed with the hospitality. The rooms had everything you could think of and were very clean. The amenities at their place were impressive (hot tub, sauna, fire pit, common room with pool table) and the food was delicious! Judy will spoil you with baked goods and can tailor all her meals to any dietary restrictions. We wished we could have stayed longer and we will definitely book with them the next time we are back. The extra special touch to this breath-taking place is the love and care they give to all their guests. You must stay here!

Judy,Gary and Baxter have the BEST bed and breakfast ever! Ucluelet BC is so blessed to have such a great B&B. Starting with the best hosts... They were amazing! So welcoming and attentive to every detail. Judy started our visit with suggestions for all the top local activities. She showed us the best places to visit in Ucluelet. Second of all they don't call their place a bed and breakfast for nothing! They have a DELICIOUS breakfast menu. Judy is a true chef! They have everything from yogurt parfaits to waffles and eggs. Last but definitely not least the location and rooms are just breathtaking! Their B&B location is in the middle of fun activities such as kayaking, fishing, the famous wild pacific trail and more. Also, they have the best view of Ucluelet in their very own backyard! Our family will always treasure our time here.

My third stay at Bostrums and everything was as expected. They served up perfect weather and good fishing along with the usual superb breakfasts, immaculate rooms, and great personalized service. Nothing like it in Ucluelet.

Though I'd really like to, I can't take credit for the fabulous sunshine and perfect fishing conditions, I will say that it was my pleasure to serve up breakfast, provide immaculate rooms, and make your stay one that will bring you back again next year. Thanks for the review Dave! Same time next year!

Don't know where to start really with this review as everything, yes everything was just perfect at Bostroms, even the weather!

From the minute we arrived, Judy went out of her way to be as accommodating as she possibly could and everything little thing was thought of.......sticking plasters, mosquito swatted, honey for the tea (& what an array of tea bags), dental kit, shaving kit, slippers, dressing gowns, umbrellas, binoculars.......it just goes on and on! And if she hasn't thought of everything (I needed needle and thread) it was there for the asking. It's these little touches that make a stay so confortable, we really felt that we were in a home-from-home situation except we don't have that marvellous view where we live!

We had the Trail Suite for 5 nights which has a very very comfortable 4 post bed, with bed warmer for colder nights, a bathroom with a lovely shower with stone flooring, a lovely big lounge area with a sofa bed, dining table with 4 chairs and a kitchenette - microwave, sink, fridge, coffee pot (with a large supply of fresh ground coffee, not packets!) and various other implements that we didn't use. Outside on the deck (like the locking system for the sliding door Judy) there is a private BBQ, patio furniture, ample loungers and a deck big enough to keep moving into the sun. Marvellous views of the little inlet which was as calm as everyday but expect it's wonderful when there is a storm. The hot tub is by the room too. All this on the top level, just lovely. Downstairs there is a sauna, the two other rooms and a common room where there is a huge snooker table, books, games, information and this is where we ate breakfast one morning. Two mornings we ate with the other guests outside overlooking the view and the other two in our room due to early starts (bears get up very early!)

You will have already ready about the breakfasts, everything is true! We did have fresh crab with our scrambled eggs on our last morning which had been caught the day before. Lovely attention to detail with breakfasts too and "yes" you can eat the decorative nasturtium flowers which made it all look so pretty. Also the fresh juices, we are now considering a juicer so that we can make delicious concoctions at home out of carrots, apples, watermelon, celery, kale etc etc. never thought I could get excited about juice and lastly, lovely lovely fruit - now I know what blueberries should taste like!

If you are looking for accommodation in a quiet, unspoilt area with lots of wildlife and nice walking trails then this is the place for you. We felt totally relaxed and un pressured the whole time we were there and would return in an instant. I urge everyone to stay here if they decide on a visit to Ucluelet. Oh, and Judy, that lovely hug when we left said it all!

BTW - make a reservation at Norwoods for dinner, it is exceptionally good!

Every time I think about closing my doors and retiring I meet wonderful folk that remind me what fun it is to share my house. I have the best job in the world with folk writing in these comments. It reminds me of being in elementary school and opening up my valentines box. Thanks for the wonderful valentine Jane. It was a real pleasure sharing the sunshine with you.
