“Surprisingly Good”

Peninsula Motor Inn & Restaurant
Restaurant details
Reviewed 15 August 2011

While staying at the Black Rock we walked around Ucuelet looking for a good spot for lunch. Although likely very good, virtually every place featured halibut and chips so we tried something at the other end of the culinary rainbow. This is a classic if not historic old style Chinese restaurant, the kind I remember from 60's in Victoria or the kind you find in small town Saskatchewan. Not the place for charm or ambiance, but we were pleasantly surprised with our lunch. My wife had one of the lunch specials and I had a basic dish from the menu and both were tasty, fresh, and looked great. So, if you want something different and want to take a trip back in time, give it a chance and you might be pleasantly surprised. And like everywhere else, they have halibut and chips.
