“Strange but true”
Reviewed 12 October 2013

This is a Canadian oddity, and unlike Magnetic Hill in New Brunswick, it's a genuine mystery. How does a lake get on top of a hill? Not much to do but read the explanatory sign and keep turning around to look at Lake Ontario far below on the other side of the road, but it's worth a stop.

“unique”
Reviewed 7 October 2013

A most unusual geological formation of an elevated water storage. Even today scientists cannot fully explain how this water enters the high lake.

“Scenic spot”
Reviewed 22 September 2013

We walked the street and viewed the lake and it was interesting to see very scenic. We were only able to see part of the lake.

“Must read the plaque to appreciate this wonder”
Reviewed 13 September 2013

Because there is water around everywhere in The County, you have to read the plaque that describes the Lake on the Mountain to appreciate it. So, it is a nice stop but other than appreciating the phenomenon, and perhaps visiting one of the two restaurants nearby, it isn't set up in a way where you can stay long to enjoy it. Just a short stretch of shoreline to look out on the lake.

“Nice lookout”
Reviewed 7 September 2013

A nice brief stop. Very scenic and relaxing. You can see the ferry coming in below on Lake Ontario, while the other side has Lake on the Mountain.
