The hot dogs were extremely small. The sausages were hardly bigger than your finger. The bread is exactly like the ones you get at the supermarket so nothing special. Also the cheese was hardly there. The sauce was OK but for $2.50 per hot dog, I would have for something more substantial. We should gone down the street to Subway for a real lunch.

The Buddha Dog offers up local food in the form of a hot dog. Local meat and butchers, local cheese, buns and an amazing array of sauces Make this a simple and delicious lunch for a family. The sauces range from sweet to savoury to spicy. We had some of each, cherry ketchup, beet-garlic aoli, smokey ketchup, beef chili sauce, balsamic tomato onion sauce and Dijon maple ginger sauce. Simple, straightforward food that was delicious and the staff were really nice and friendly. Hot dogs are like regular store hot dogs so if you are hungry get two, but at 2.50 each they're a bargain.

I love hot dogs, but I wouldn't eat them nearly as often if it weren't for my toddler. At every chance he wants to visit his favourite restaurant, Buddha Dog. This is a unique place, which has crafted their product out of the finest local ingredients. Now I could probably gobble about 20 of these modestly sized dogs, but I resist and have the recommended human portion of 3. They are fresh, delicious, and top with amazing sauces that range from sweet to spicy. We have our favourite combos, but we are always trying the daily one, just to find some new taste sensations. We love the salads and the ice tea as well, but the real draw is watching our toddler enjoy the space, colour a buddha, and eat a natural hot dog that always leaves a smile on his face.

Cute idea, but could add some chips or something with dogs. We had flights and sauces were tasy but not very much food for price. Ice tea was bland and watery, even though homemades. We got suckered in with the hype but were dissapointed.

If you want a great little snack in a cute shop from wholesome, earnest staff then stop in at Buddha Dog! We had the daily special (a combo of asparagus, tasty cheese & Bearnaise sauce on a wholesome locally made sausage and fresh bun), washed down with their housemade herby iced tea served in a canning jar. It was delightful. The small town feel of the place really added to the experience - from the old fashioned screen doors left open to catch the breeze to the vintage tables and the rough kitchen, I felt like I had stepped back into a simpler time. So refreshing after all the cookie cutter, air conditioned fast food place one often has to frequent. FYI, the Dogs are snack size, so if you are wanting a meal order 2 or 3, but they are the perfect size for a light afternoon nosh and only $2.50 each. My only suggestion would be to streamline the ordering/prep/serve system. The young girl behind the counter, altho diligently trying her best, appeared to be working too hard to accomplish all of that on her own (and the system for paying with debit was a bit odd as well). This place is definitely worth many return visits!
