The room we stayed in was huge and well appointed a couple water damaged ceiling tiles if you want to be picky but very nice, comfortable beds and pillows with nice linens. I don't know why they don't have a bigger couch with a pullout bed in the living room they definitely have the space. IF YOU GET BREAKFAST INCLUDED YOU CAN HAVE BRUNCH FOR $5 MORE WE FOUND THIS OUT ON OUR LAST DAY TOO LATE FOR US BUT MAYBE IT WILL HELP SOMEONE SLEEP IN A LITTLE LONGER. My only complaint is that we were never told this my wife asked the manager on our last day if there was a discount on brunch if we didn't make breakfast. The staff is top notch and very friendly I guess they are treated well and it shows, my biggest compliment goes to them. DEFINITELY RECOMMENDED, Adios amigos!

We came for the Cookery Class and stayed for a night. Wonderful experience! Website pictures are excellent. Room was very cosy. Supper in the pub was very good! Cookery class was outstanding!!! Jordan really knew his stuff and was terrific! Gave lots of good advice. Class was good for beginners and pros! Would highly recommend a package that includes the cookery class!

We have visited the county 7times in the last few years, and have really enjoyed our visits, but this one was the best of hotels yet. We booked 2night pkg on Travelzoo for $259.00 and this was included, one bottle of chilled Rosehill run Chardonnay 2011 in our fridge withtwo glasses in front of the fireplace...how inviting is that. Then a $30.00 voucher for dinner at Amelia Garden or Barley Pub...we opted for Amelia and we're totally thrilled with our dining experience. We were offered the $35.00 prix fixed menu offering 5-6 appetizers and 5-6 entrees and dessert. I opted for the apple and cheddar soup which was sublime to say the least..followed by roasted duck breast.with walnut stuffing, risotto braised red cabbage and green beans...totally delectable.
Dessert. I had the inn made coconut cream pie...6stars all the way. Now are room. Where do you get aroom furnished with exquisite Gibbard furniture...what an ode to Classic Canadians..Not to mention Frette towels and linens what a find....free vouchers for beer and wine tasting in the area
Free wifi with easy connection..local calls....parking. The public features live music..which was delightful the two days we were there...there is a fridge in the room and the most comfortable bed I have slept in.I will definitely be back special price or not. Cudo,s to a job well done can't wait to see Waringhouse again.

Room Tip: Do not miss the food and beverage of this facility.

We stayed at the Waring House for a girls trip during the Maple in the County Festival. From the time of reservation we were happy with the service we received. Everyone we spoke to over the phone was warm and courteous and our check in experience reflected the same.
We stayed in The House Next Door, room 6. The room was nice, definitely a lot of history! Beds were comfortable and the hot tub was well appreciated! The only thing that may have been an issue was that the bathroom was not renovated, not too much of an issue for us as we weren't there to hang out in our room. Just watch your head!
Our first evening we went into the pub for dinner which was a GREAT time! Live music, great food and good local wine! Can't ask for much more for a great start to the weekend. Breakfast the following morning was excellent as well, with service being very friendly, attentive and welcoming.
That evening we had dinner scheduled in Amelia's Garden. We had booked a reservation well in advance (two weeks prior when we made our hotel reservation) and given notice of our vegetarian guest at the time. Still when we arrived for our reservation they were completely blind sided by our vegetarian request and were totally unprepared. We still had an enjoyable evening and the appetizer and dessert courses were enough to fill anyone up and leave happy. I will write a separate review for the restaurant as I don't want to taint my overall review of the service and charm of the hotel.
Sunday morning we upgraded to brunch and were not disappointed. The food was once again AMAZING and we left full and happy with excellent memories of our girls weekend in The County!

Was really expecting a stay at a old property with lots of history. I think this experience is limited to those staying in the main building. We stayed in the Quaker lodge which appears to be brand new and anything but historic. It is nice and clean but has the feel of a nice Best Western. I was a little disappointed.

Check in was a little confusing. The girl at the front desk seemed overwhelmed and very confused. Had to ask for a few of the things included in my Travelzoo package as it was not really put together for my arrival.

The beds were AMAZINGLY comfortable.

The reviews here are correct, the walls are paper thin (maybe thinner). We could easily hear the people next to us. We turned on the White Noise Machine provided (basically a loud fan), and everything was fine.

The true Gem at this property is the pub. Amazing historic little room with some great live music. Definitely a must if you are staying here.

The locations of the resort is not too bad. Great for exploring all the local wineries; and the brewery. I didn't feel the spot was very picturesque (although we visited in March).

All in all, not a bad place. Would probably try a different spot for the experience should I find myself back in the area!

Room Tip: I would try for the Main Lodge if you want a unique feel.

Dear Remmit from Niagara Falls,

thank you very much for staying with us and for sharing your experience here on Trip Advisor.

I find it very interesting some of our guests prefer to stay in the more traditional rooms, others prefer to stay in the newer rooms... and I am sure you have noticed that the furnishings in those rooms are of very high quality.
And yes, I am very pleased to share with you that we are in the final stages of sound proofing all rooms. ( we just completed the Heritage building, the difference is amazing.. and we are working on the Quaker)
Thank you again.. and we are hoping you will return soon..

We spent the weekend at Waring House and we stayed in the Main House overtop the restaurant...The girl at reception was friendly and courteous.
The Main House is Old but charming and clean and the bathroom is modern.
The light in the bathroom is charming too, but not very good for putting on makeup! they really need another mirror with a better light for women on the go!
There were a few light bulbs not working in the room, but we didn't have time to ask them to change them for us. TV is old....could really use a flat screen.
The Hotel houses a cooking school and so the food choices are varied and adventurous.
And good! We were served a "box" breakfast as we had to leave earlier than breakfast was served in the restaurant and the muffins along with old cheese from a local dairy was really tastey...The staff in the morning was chipper and friendly so that was a great bonus for a NON morning lover like myself!
Some of our party was accommodated in the Quaker Lodge and it's a newer building. Very nicely appointed but noisy. We walked from the Main house and the pub to the Quaker Lodge and as the weather was really mild then flash freeze some of the roadways and walkways were icy....could have used some sand for easier walking.
The Waring House is close to the main drag of Picton so lots of options for gas, shopping and restaurants. Pricing was competitive.

Room Tip: if you prefer old and charming, pick the Main House (main house is above pub, and although you can s...

We spent a few days at Waring House last week. My wife and I were looking forward to a few quiet days in Prince Edward County. When we booked our reservation, we were upgraded to the Quaker Lodge. We were not informed by Waring House staff that the Quaker Lodge is NOT soundproof. When we checked in, we were not informed by Waring House staff that our room was NOT soundproof.

The number of reviews on tripadvisor that report this problem is clear evidence that The Waring House is having a chronic soundproofing problem in the Quaker Lodge.

Not to inform first time guests of this problem is deliberate and inappropriate.

Buyer Beware
