Reservations are highly recommended in this very busy restaurant. This was the best of three dinners. The menu has both ambitious and regular menu items. The have a good Cesar salad. I had a delicious hamburger with my wife enjoying her pecan chicken. For children it is either pasta or chicken fingers. We ended the dinner with an excellent frozen chocolate desert.

We arrived late in the evening without a reservation knowing we might not get in. Although there was one last table for four available we were told that the kitchen was backed up and they wouldn't be able to serve us in a timely manner. We said not to worry. We sat down with a bottle of local wine (Huff Estates Merlot) and waited happily.

We eventually ordered the Potabella pasta, pickerell, salmon and a salad dish. Each one was great with nothing on our plates when done.

Dessert was peach pie with ice cream, bumbleberry pie with ice cream and a cheescake. Again all were great.

Definitely on our list for return visits to Picton.

Upon arriving for our reservation we could see the place was full, smelled good and the hum of good conversations were wall to wall. A staff member greeted us and confirmed that our table would be ready in minutes as they prior guests were just paying up - we were seated in just minutes. Our waitress (Karen) was very pleasant attentive and helped us with local wine pairings with our meals.
Our 1st course selections; Smoked Salmon & Orange Almond Salad;
There was plenty of salmon and had the rye rounds been crisper it was flawless.
Both local paired wines went well and immediately we noted their names for our touring the next 2 days.
Our 2nd course selections; Local pan fried Pickerel and Pecan Chicken which is one of their house specialties. The Pickerel was delicious and perfectly cooked BUT the Pecan Chicken my wife had was spectacular and understandably earns the recommendation YOU MUST TRY THIS! Once again wine pairings were good and further added to enjoyment of diner.

For desert we selected from their local ice cream offerings; Raspberry n' White Chocolate and Rhubarb n' Ginger both were delicious.

During our dinner conversation with Karen our waitress, we told her which B&B we were staying and of course she knew our host. Thank goodness, as upon leaving she discovered my wallet had been left on the table. We were 10 minutes from the restaurant she had contacted our B&B host who then called my cell to tell me my wallet was waiting for me - Karen Thanks!

We ordered pasta dishes and a salad with different local wines offered by the glass. The pasta dishes arrived piping hot with al dente pasta and fresh ingredients prepared in savory sauces. The salad, again, arrived fresh with a refined vinaigrette. There is a great selection of local Prince Edward County wine sold by the glass which is a fun, convenient way to enjoy the area's excellent wine products. Friendly, professional service despite being very busy during the summer high season.

Stopped in on a Saturday night and fortunately, no reservation was required as we didn't have one but were seated right away. The menu wasn't huge but had a good variety and the deserts were homemade and very good.

Nothing outstanding but a reasonable value and decent quantities.
