We have just had our second stay at Ackroyd house and it was as wonderful this time as last. The owners Andrew and Jayne are wonderful hosts, nothing is to much trouble. The rooms are large and very well furnished. The Yorkshire breakfast keeps you going for the entire day and is well cooked and presented. We will be going back many times.

A perfect B & B great location, lovely hosts, very comfortable, well presented and spotlessly clean. We would recommend this to anyone - a big thank you to Jane and Andrew for a lovely weekend. The breakfast menu did not disappoint and our choice was perfectly cooked and served. They have already won a Tourist Board Award and should win many more for their efforts in presenting the perfect B & B.

Room Tip: Both rooms are excellent

This is a special place to stay in a wonderful location. We stayed in the Valley View room with extensive views over the valley. The room itself is large and well equipped - with a great walk in shower. It is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. The breakfast was one of the best we have had - you could have anything you wanted and at a time to choose. The welcome from the friendly hosts was second to none. Thoroughly recommended!
We visited the Standedge Tunnel and the Holmfirth Vineyard - both were excellent.

Room Tip: Both rooms are suites - the Valley Room suite has fantastic views!

We spent the week at Ackroyd House B&B. We have very nice welcome from Jane and Andrew. They was very helpful and polite. Our room was fantastic and very accessible. In the morning after very comfortable sleep, we came for breakfast. The table was beautifully presented, breakfast was first class, especially the eggs which are freshly laid from there own hens. We had a wonderful stay and the views from the B&B was magnificent and so peaceful and quiet. It was a very relaxing week at the Ackroyd House.

Room Tip: The ground floor room is very beautiful and accessible!

Arrived at Ackroyd House in rain and very low dark clouds. Met by Jayne who was so welcoming and so helpful - immediately felt at home and relaxed. Weather improved the next day, went downstairs for breakfast - it was exactly as described - a very wide choice - the Full breakfast is highly commended. We went to a Concert Saturday evening at Huddersfield Town Hall - a beautiful building. We did not know the area too well - Andy - again - was so helpful in indicating a scenic route to Buxton & Bakewell. We decided to take the train to Sheffield for a day out. Andy provided all the information we needed. The accommodation was lovely and clean and we lacked for nothing. True - we left as friends and look forward to a return stay at Ackroyd House. Good local pub ( within walking distance ) - excellent food - Rose & Crown. D&P

Such a lovely stay with a couple who honestly couldn't do enough to make your stay a great one! We stayed here to attend a local wedding and it was a great base, lovely people and very, very clean accommodation! Couldn't recommend it enough and would certainly return!

Ackroyd House. Top of the Hill. Must go to the top of your list if your looking for a quality place to stay. Found it by complete chance surfing the web for a late booking. And what a find. Piece and quite abound.Absolutely brilliant.Jayne and Andrew your hosts make you very welcome indeed. Nothing is too much trouble which makes your stay hassle free and far more relaxing.
Be prepared for a top notch breakfast cooked just as you like it,and plenty of it. Views spot on, Rooms, big and well thought out. The bed. The best I've ever slept in. We will be back.
Thank you, Alan and Denise
