We happened upon this small cafe while exploring Deer Island. The server was very friendly and told us all about her amazing organic garden. They were selling her home grown veggies right there in the restaurant. Amazing what the island can produce. We ordered the special which was a small lobster roll and Caesar salad for $11.99. Excellent. The roll was grilled in bottom and instead of slathering the lobster roll in mayo, there was a small dollop on the top which you could add if you wished. We were surprised to find a small nest of lettuce under the lobster on the roll but it actually tasted good with it. Just never seen it before. The salad was really crisp and fresh and delicious. It made a really nice plate at an affordable price.
There's is outdoor seating, which would have been nice, but we were told the yellow jackets have arrived and so we opted to stay indoors.
While leaving I noticed a sign about a Fish Dinner and Palm Readings on Sunday night. Would have enjoyed that.
My one complaint is they only have iced tea in cans with sugar. It's amazing how many places have only the unhealthy option. I ordered hot tea and a glass of ice and made my own. Think of the profit restaurants could make on plain iced tea!
It was a friendly cheerful atmosphere and I wonder how the locals manage without it in the winter.

Doing some loaded bicycle touring of Deer Island, which is NOT flat. We finally arrived at this restaurant, and the food was okay, by no means amazing. We ordered Caesar salads, which were good, except no Caesar dressing, so we settled for Bleu cheese. But there's very little choice around here, so we were happy and full.

You get a lot of food for your money and the haddock was about the best I've had. The vegetables were overdone and potatoes underdone but the waitress was great and the atmosphere casual and friendly.

Great stop on drive around Deer Island. Friendly service, the Fried Haddock was great, but unfortunately the Fried Clams were too greasy.FYI they were selling a selection of very nice locally grown veggies.
