“Great local gem!”
Reviewed 24 February 2013

Wonderful food from a new chef. A homemade menu crafted with passion. Thursday nights are Theme Nights and always popular. Best Sunday brunch on Mayne Island. Friendly, fast service from a staff who cares. Can't wait for summer when the outdoor deck will open again!

“Disappointing”
Reviewed 15 February 2013 via mobile

After just arriving for our weekend on Mayne Island we stopped here for lunch. The menu talks about homemade and we were looking forward to fresh fish, homemade French fries and their homemade chowder. The chowder was very thick but acceptable. The halibut and chips was very greasy, the fish was not fresh and was actually very tough and chewy. The garlic toast that was served with the chowder tasted stale. The steamed mussels and clams were overcooked, rubbery and dry. Hours later we still feel a little ill from our lunch.

“Great food with an even better view!”
Reviewed 24 August 2012

Quaint character house with a restaurant. The food was great- we both had burgers and the seafood chowder and enjoyed the view in the sunshine. The server was a friendly woman who was eager to introduce to some highlights of Mayne that were well worth it!

“Enjoyed a lovely lunch in the sunshine!”
Reviewed 10 July 2012

Four of us sat on the sunny deck and thoroughly enjoyed a scrumptious lunch Friday, July 6, 2012. The service was excellent and the staff welcoming. We would recommend you dine here on your visit to beautiful Mayne Island. We will definitely return for dinner in the future.

P.S. Their seafood chowder was fabulous!

“not enjoyable”
Reviewed 3 July 2012

We have visited this place on a number of occassions hoping that each visit would be better than the last, unfortunately this did not happen...Our last experience was by far the worst. We arrived with a group of 8 people and were treated as if we were imposing. We waited and waited for menus, and after 15 minutes we ordered drinks, the drinks came out one by one over a span of 15 minutes. By the time the last person at our table had recieved their drink, others at the table had already finished theirs. I can understand this poor service if the place had been even moderately busy, but this was not the case, there were only 2 other tables in at the time of our visit. Eventually we ordered lunch, the food took forever to come out, and when it did, there were large gaps of time between the arrival of each persons meal. Once again certain people were nearly finished their meals before others had even arrived. The food was edible, but mediocre at best. I had ordered a salad which the menu stated was served with bocconcini cheese, I love bocconcini cheese, and that was the main reason I ordered that particular dish, needless to say I was feeling quite disapointed when my salad arrived with NO cheese, when I asked the server, she replied that they no longer served it that way, even though it was advertised on their menu.. Without the cheese, it was a very plain and unispired salad, a real let-down... Upon paying our bill, no concession was made.. I would definitely look around the island for other options.
