Description: We are a warm and friendly family run country Inn, positioned right on the A303 just 3 miles west of stonehenge. We offer great value, home cooked and locally sourced food. We offer our breakfast menu daily from 9am till 3pm, lunch from 12pm till 3pm and evening meals from 6pm till 9pm. We are open all day every day but food finishes between 3pm and 6pm, just so the chef can go and have a sleep!!

“Best breakfast ever!!!!”
Reviewed 18 July 2014

After an early start travelling from Kent to Newquay, stopped off for breakfast here. I can honestly state that this breakfast was fabulous and probably the best we've ever had. Opted for the large; which was obviously freshly cooked and well presented. You will not be disappointed, and certainly will never ever opt for a motorway services breakfast ever again. If travelling anywhere in the vicinity, you must drop in.

“Nice Food”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Great food, very friendly staff, would have liked a bit more atmosphere but it was on a Weds night. Walked from the nearby campsite on a lovely evening walk, very well situated for campers x

“Very disappointing.with no apology when we complained.”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

We booked our party of 14 in well in advance, we wanted an early meal as we had children with us. There seemed to be only one person on the bar and one very hard working waitress. We had to wait to get served with a drinkl and wait again to have our food orders taken, when the food arrived the order was wrong, and not enough chips and veg to go round, so more had to be ordered, by the time that arrived my meal was cold. I chose the smoked haddock off the 'specials' board £11.95 and got a postage stamp sized piece of leathery fish, the beef wellington that was ordered was sent back as it was burnt and something akin to stewing steak in it. The baked camembert starter was very nice, but that's hard to get wrong. The beers were good, but the cider was awful. The Bell was recommended to us (by locals) but we left feeling very disappointed indeed, so we wont be going back I'm afraid.
Reading other reviews it seems we were some of the unlucky ones, and the food and service is very hit and miss.

“Disappointing food and surroundings”
Reviewed 3 June 2014

We booked several weeks in advance for earliest time in the evening available because we had several children with us. Admittedly we were a large group but we had to wait for service for some time and then the order was not accurate when it did arrive. We sent back the Beef Wellington as it was more like a pasty and cold and the fish dishes were small and not very appetising.

We felt the menu was too big and ambitious to be adequately delivered and on the expensive side.

However the range of beers was a bonus and the children's meals good value for money. The pub had been recommended to us but we left feeling disappointed.

“worth the wait”
Reviewed 2 June 2014

We arrived at the end of a busy lunch time but the staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was great (we did have a bit of a wait but the pub was jammed so this was fine) and my partner was very impressed with the choice of beers on offer.
Well worth a vist and we will be back next time we're in the area.
