“Airport Gem”
Reviewed 24 August 2010

Nice unexpected gem for airport hotel; hotel is an easy quick walk from main terminal, most of which is a covered walkway. The walk is easier if you use one of the luggage carts which you get where you retrieve your luggage. The staff.was very friendly, professional, helpful and discreet. The room is very compact but functional, room is excellent for one person but if shared with another person, there really isn't any privacy, so you need to be comfortable with who you are with. Bed is larger than a king and was very comfortable; everything from check-in, check-out and features in the room are navigated digitally but is very easy to understand and use. Food/drink options are for the most part self-serve but given the type of hotel it is, the options were perfectly fine. Overall, the hotel was an excellent value for the cost.

As a constant traveler what I want is a big comfy bed, free movies/internet, everything comfortable and compact, good lighting, a big window..and a food court/counter, and not too expensive!!

I FINALLY found it at this hotel. I will stay here everytime I am in Amsterdam. For the 200+ euros I would pay for a small room in the heart of Amsterdam, I can stay here for alot less and take the train in from next door at the airport..that leaves every 10 minutes.

Yeah!!!

the hotel is at a great location because its steps away from the hotel. Staff always willing to help with directions. Rooms small but very comfortable with free movies!. Would definitely stay here again!

I would strongly recommend this Hotel, it is practical and young and it works. The atmosphere is friendly, one can choose between privacy in the room, which has everything one needs - or go to the bar / lounge/ coffee shop where everyone seems to be taken over by a friendly familiarity with the other guests ! It is good to be reminded that although we travel alone it is still humane to see our reflection in the eyes of our fellow travelers and exchange a story or two.
The price is great and the people are too.

Great website !

Upon arrival, exit towards 'Hotes/Busses" signs in the terminal. Turn right outside and walk a few hundred feet under breezeway which is covered all the way to the hotel. Check-in was automated kiosk, but a friendly hotel rep was there to assist if necessary. We had a SLIGHT miscommunication problem due to the booking agency, not the hotel, but the manager Tess was exceptionally helpful & resolved it to our satisfaction as we were extremely frustrated at first. You are allowed to take an airport luggage trolley to the hotel as well and leave it outside.

Room: very modern and like-new hotel, very high tech. There is no luggage rack, but it easily stores in the slide out hugh drawer in the KING SIZE bed with fluffy pillows ...yes, a first for us in Europe where we expect tiny beds! The room is bright with remote blind closers, remote room darkening shades, remote mood lighting, remote everything. How cool! The shower is in a see-thru glass enclosure in the middle of the room. We found it to be no problem. We read here where the toilet is likewise, but it has privacy since the glass in completely frosted and NOT see-thru.

There is a large living room area downstairs with Internet and printer at no charge. The breakfast is worth getting at 9 euros and included a chocolate croissant, yogurt with granola, fresh fruit, bottled fruit juice, and some other things that have skipped our minds. It filled us up and was offered as compensation for the booking company's errors. There is a food section in the hotel offering liquor and food 24-7, but we found the airport mall to offer so much more at better prices.

Overall, we found this hotel to be extremely close to the airport and it offered amenities that we have never found at other hotels that we have stayed at all over the world, especially airport hotels. We recommend it due to these amenities and the customer service without any reservation whatsoever.

We near-retirement-age folks enjoyed our stay at this ultra modern hotel. The mood lighting and little touches of humor throughout the hotel (check out the little figures on the lobby restroom doors) made us laugh.

Ultra accommodating staff made us feel welcome and well cared for, and proximity to the airport was terrific. Such an easy trek to our flight--just grabbed a wheeled cart and in 5 minutes we were inside the airport. Great way to reduce last-minute stress.

Continental breakfasts were pricey for what we got, and a second cup of coffee without an extra charge would have been welcome.

First of all I would like to say that this is a very good hotel, I would definately recommend it. All of the good points of this hotel have already been mentioned here so I won't bother to repeat them. However there are two main problems I have had staying in this hotel.

The temperature of the rooms is controllable, but only from 17 to 23 degrees. That might sound OK, but for me that is on the cool side and I was quite often cold in the room. Sometimes you want a blast of hot air but that is impossible. The difference between 17 and 23 degrees is subtle and it takes quite a while to notice any difference when it is changed.

The remote control which controls the blinds, lights, temperature, and TV communicates via WiFi not infra red. The problem is that the remote struggles to get a decent wifi signal in most parts of the room. You find yourself moving the remote around the room in order to get a signal just to do something as simple as changing channel on the tv. This is a major problem in both rooms I have stayed in recently.
