July 2013. What a great time we had in Inverness NS on Cape Breton. The highlight of our trip was our adventures with Eagle Eye Outfitters. They have a very convenient location in town, so it was super easy to arrange. Our 14 year old can't get enough fishing no matter where we go and the rod from the Coop just wasn't enough. So he started with a Fly Fishing lesson and tour of the Margaree river searching for salmon. Conrad was friendly, and well prepared with everything needed to make it a safe, fun, and educational experience. Then we arranged a tour of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and out to view Sea Wolf Island/Margaree Island on Conrad's 40 ft. touring boat “Seas The Breeze”. We were all comfortable and enjoyed learning about the area with Conrad and his crew. Definitely a family friendly trip and lots of fun. We saw the diving birds, seals, and pilot whales. Our 12 yr old daughter and 14 yr old son both got to fish some while we were out on the water. They had the gear all ready which made it so easy. The kids hauled in quite a few mackerel. And if that wasn't enough, the crew cooked up right there on the board sitting at the dock at the end of our trip. Doesn't get better than that. We hope to be back again soon. We would like to try some of the other excursions Eagle Eye offers and take another boat tour for sure.

Make sure you take a guided trip out with these folks while you are in Cape Breton. This was by far the highlight of our holiday. We've now been out with them a few times and every trip was spectacular. The guides are incredibly knowledgeable, the scenery is amazing, and even the snacks are fabulous.
