“What a wonderful place!”
Reviewed 9 June 2014

We recently attended a family wedding at Beechenhill Farm, The location is breathtaking, what a wonderful place to get married.! The food was excellent and the friendliness of the staff was a breath of fresh air! My father became ill during the day and the host, Sue,went out of her way to help with the situation. Would highly recommend this wonderful place!

My very new husband and I had a wonderful wedding at Beechenhill Farm last month. And we plan to return to this very special part of the Peak District in years to come.
The family make you feel like their beautiful home is yours for the duration of your stay. And whether you stay in the cottages or the B&B the comfortable beds and peaceful surroundings will make you wish you could stay longer.
The rooms are all decorated to a high standard with original artwork by Sue Prince adding interesting and enjoyable detail. The hand painted ceiling in the cottage for 2 had us almost too distracted to gaze at the cows out of the window. Every detail seems to have been considered from eco friendly dishwasher soap in the cottages to homemade biscuits on your arrival- delicious. But the most delicious part of the stay for B&B guests is the cooked breakfast. Just fab! The porridge is great too- the best way to refuel for a day walking in the Peaks.
The Swedish hot tub is the perfect way to unwind with a drink and watch the sunset. The sauna is a hidden treasure.
And our wedding day was beyond our expectations. Thank you!
All in all, it is beautiful inside and out. What a gem!

Beechenhill Farm is a breath of fresh air... literally. A perfect spot to get away for some peace and quiet. From the moment we arrived we received a warm and friendly welcome. From that moment on the service was exceptional, nothing was too much trouble. We were given lots of local advice and knowledge - where to eat, where to walk, cycle routes etc. But all advice was delivered in a non-pushy helpful way. Great customer service but at the same time we were left alone to relax. Amazing breakfast using local ingredients, would go back for the breakfast alone. The views from the farm are second to none - stunning. Sue and her family made us fell very welcome and for that reason we would definitely recommend Beechenhill Farm to others. If you get chance use the electric bikes - great fun.

My girlfriend and I stayed here for family winter wedding at Illam hall.As soon as we turned up we were greeted by Sue and Terry, from that moment on they were so helpful and friendly.
The little cottage was a lovely and cozy with beautiful views.
The cottage had all you needed for a relaxing break and such a comfortable bed.We were there in the middle of December for the wedding so we never got the chance to walk around this beautiful area, but Illam hall is a beautiful wedding venue.
When you go to this lovely cottage be sure to have some of Terry and Sue's bacon, sausage and bread, homemade and delicious, the birds like the bread as well

Thank you for your lovely review. It was a pleasure to have you to stay. Since your stay in Little Beechenhill Cottage we have put our home-made bread deliveries in a box so the pesky birds can't try it before you do!! Hope to see you again someday, there are lots of walks to be discovered....

We held our daughter's wedding at Beechenhill Farm last weekend - a stunning location, even more beautiful in the sunshine. The day far exceeded all our expectations, due in no small part to Sue & Terry, Alex & Rob, who were always in the background quietly ensuring that everything ran smoothly. The Haybarn is a wonderful intimate venue and was the perfect setting for a relaxed wedding with family and friends. Thank you so much for helping to make Kathryn & Niall's wedding day so special and memorable.

What great memories we have of Kathryn and Niall's wedding! Everything was so relaxed and happy, definitely a most enjoyable event! Mind you, my knees were sore after walking the groom's party to the pub for lunch and then dancing behind the bar til midnight!! Thank you for choosing Beechenhill for your special day, we look forward to your return visits! xxx

We stayed at the Cottage for 6 people on a recommendation, and our holiday was great. We have 3 young children (3,5 and 6) and the venue was perfect. It felt safe and very relaxing. The owners were really friendly, available when we needed them, but equally left us to get on with our holiday. The kids were able to see the cows being milked, collect eggs each morning from the chickens, and run around in the garden. It's really easy to pack a picnic and head off for a walk without needing the car. It was great for doing walks in Dovedale, and Ashbourne wasn't too far to drive. There are some really nice touches which made us feel very welcome, such as a chalk board when you arrive, and a lovely cake (which the kids thought was amazing!!). We would definitely recommend, and the kids loved it.

Room Tip: In the cottage for 6 people, one of the rooms is at the top of quite narrow steps in the attic and t...
