Very friendly place with good beers. Large selection of food , huge portions and great chips. Its not gourmet but very homely . Good value for money . We will definitely go again when in area. Our dogs were made very welcome .

This pub provides cheap basic food. The roast dinner was not roasted at all but boiled meat with gravy. Only two roast potatoes were dished up and they looked deep fried. We were also given a dish of watery overcooked vegetables along with some boiled potatoes. My daughter had the children's cod and chips and the cod looked very much like a frozen supermarket piece of fish.
The tables and cutlery were not very clean and the wine tasted watery.
The waiter asked us if we enjoyed our meal and we informed him that we did not, he apologised but didn't appear to be too bothered.
We made a swift exit after the meal! I would not recommend this restaurant.

Just over the road from Tissington village which is worth a visit, very pretty. On the main road with plenty of parking, a large beer garden with it's own toilets (as well as those inside of course). We cycled here on the bank holiday weekend, and we hadn't booked so we worried we may not get in, but they had a clever trick up their sleeves, if there is not enough room at the inn, so to speak, they have an adjoining function room which they open up and extend the service into. Although this room is modern and felt like you were attending a wedding with it's large 8 seater tables and linens it suited us perfectly as the weather was not good enough to sit in the garden and we were a large farmily group. It had it's own bar too and the food was very good. I really enjoyed my roast pork and apple sauce baguette.

Would definitely visit again. Thanks
