Having just returned from our 4th visit to this beautiful B&B and holiday cottage. We first stayed last summer. We had a fabulous time, cottage was immaculate, everything we could have wished for and more. Beds were comfy, kitchen spotless, lovely fresh bread, jam and flowers on arrival. Had a perfect week. Nicky our host was so friendly we felt we had known her forever. We were back in October that year for a short break, equally as nice and the cottage was lovely and warm on our return each day. We were back again in December to stay in the B&B. Such opulent rooms, warm and comfy, our boys shared a twin and slept like logs. Breakfast was hearty and Nicky uses all local produce. Yummy and probably one of the best cooked breakfasts we had received at a B&B. We were back in July for another stay. Wonderful weather, bbq's, pétanque on the lawns and supper at the pub. Couldn't have been welcomed more if we had been staying with family. Nicky even decorated the cottage with balloons and banners as it was our sons birthday whilst we were staying. We are already planning our next visit and it can't come quick enough. Highly recommend with family or as a little weekend retreat for two.

Room Tip: We stayed in the large room with private bathroom adjacent, not ensuite but huge big room and right...

Outstanding B&B. Absolutely immaculate with beautifully decorated rooms, but still retaining a homely feel.We stayed in the twin room which was quite spacious, with very comfortable beds, and a proper sized bathroom en suite (this is the first b&b I've stayed in for a while where the bathroom hasn't been squeezed into a cupboard!) Lots of great little touches (slippers to borrow by the door, well supplied bathroom to cover bits you might forget) and the bonus of a lovely garden you have use of. Genuinely friendly and helpful hosts with suggestions of walks from the door, maps and instructions provided. Excellent breakfast, I particularly liked the homemade jams and how everything was presented. We ended up in the pub next door for dinner both nights- can't beat it for convenience and a friendly welcome. This is a beautiful corner of the world and a walkers dream- and this place made it a perfect weekend. I'll definitely be back soon.

We spent a couple of nights at the Old Vicarage this week and had an absolutely lovely stay. The building is beautiful and full of character, and the rooms immaculately clean and decorated, with everything you need on hand. We enjoyed home made cake on arrival, and in fact all the cake, jams and breads Nicky offers are made on site, and indeed the jams with fruit from the garden.

We headed for dinner at the lovely Olde Royal Oak pub which is literally a 30 second walk away at the end of the drive. We were welcomed warmly here too - we'd recommend the pub highly as well.

Nicky also provides a wealth of walking guides, maps and other info to make sure you get the most from your stay in what is a beautiful part of the country.

Breakfast was super too - with a nice tick box menu provided in rooms the day before to ensure that Nicky provides EXACTLY what you want to fuel you the following morning.

Excellent and enjoyable stay.

Another good choice! Lovely accommodation. Great cooked breakfasts with home made bread and jams. Very welcoming - home from home; pot of tea and home-made lemon drizzle cake on arrival. Own front door key to come and go as you please with tea making facilities available in dining room to help yourself during day. Bottled water, chocolate bars and crisps available with honesty box - thoughtful little touch as no village shop. Use of the pretty garden. Very peaceful location. Pretty much perfect. Will definitely return when we visit area again.

My daughter and I stayed two nights at this wonderful B&B in The Peak District. Nicky Drummond's hospitality is second to none. We stayed in the twin room which was very comfortable with an ensuite bathroom. I wish we could have stayed longer and hopefully will be able to stay again. I loved the way the rooms were decorated and the gardens are beautiful. The breakfast was delicious. All in all the best B&B I have ever stayed in.

We chose The Old Vicarage because of the outstandiung reviews - what a good decision! We fully concur with all the admiring and satisfied comments made by others. Very comfortable accommodation, furnished with taste and kept immaculate. But for us, the most satisfying and memorable aspect was the charming hospitality of our hostess, Nicky. Full, of energy, goodwill and kindness, she really does bring that extra something to make The Old Vicarage a perfect place to stay

Room Tip: We had the super king size room above the front door and were very comfortabel, well-worth the premi...
