James and Susan have done an excellent job of creating a wonderful B&B - our room was nicely decorated, very clean & comfortable, and all very new looking. It was also very quiet. They are extremely helpful and friendly hosts, and the breakfasts were delicious and plentiful!

We stayed for two nights following the ferry trip down from Prince Rupert. When our original plans of spending the day with Larry, the bear guide, fell through (and which we would love to return to do in the future), we spent an interesting day exploring Port Hardy on foot. James recommended the Quatse River Trail (within walking distance of the B&B). It's a nice hiking trail, where we were rewarded with the appearance of a bear fishing for salmon (and just as James had assured us, the bears are too interested in salmon to take any notice of people.)

The B&B is located in a convenient area for exploring the downtown and wharf area, and very close to the visitor's info centre. It's also just a few steps to the Greyhound stop, which heads southbound each day at 9:30 a.m. (we took it to Courtenay to pick up a rental car for the rest of our island sightseeing.)

We really enjoyed our stay at Orange Tabby and highly recommend it to others!

The B&B was very easy to find; very good location ,walking distance to the harbour, shopping and restaurants, with ample parking for vehicles. James and Susan were very warm and welcoming, the bedroom and ensuite bathroom were spotless and spacious, the bed was very comfortable; the accomodation really was perfect. James is a great cook; the breakfasts were very tasty and you could not possibly leave hungry! Our hosts had lots of interesting ideas for things to see and do as well as recomendations for dinner. They shared great photos of the area with us and we truly enjoyed their hospitality.

The Orange tabby was a real treat. Sadly we only stayed one night here as we were departing very early the next morning to take the ferry south. The owners greeted us with wine and pretzels which was a lovely touch and showed us to our room which was excellent on all counts. Clean, modern, tastefully decorated and with everything you need. We had our wake up call as requested at ''Stupid o'clock'' and were both given our pack lunch breakfasts which were more than generous. The shuttle bus for the ferry south to Prince Rupert will pick you up right outside the Orange tabby and you might even get to see Mr Racoon scuttling around in the yard outside as we did. I thoroughly recommend The Orange tabby as being a really nice place to stay if in Port Hardy and would love to have stayed a bit longer. Thanks guys!

We spent two nights in Port Hardy in Orange Tabby B&B. We travelled around BC for three weeks and this place was one of the best we stayed in. The room was cozy and the house is close to the sea. We had our fantastic breakfasts with our hosts, Susan and James and their doggy :). They were the best and the most helpful hosts we met in Canada. They helped us a lot when we had problem with our car, they reserved a table in a restaurant for us and made us an extremly early breakfast when we had to leave early morning. I recommend this place to everyone!
