“Can't wait to go back!”

It was for sure the best dive resort I've been to in the west coast. Excellent food and great staff with an awesome dive master. Elevator on the dive boat and they bent over backwards to make sure we had the time of our lives. I plan on going back every year. Great place and I will recommend it to everyone.

A brightly painted, hand crafted vision that immediately delights your senses as you round the corner to the resort. Each day I found hidden treasures that made me smile.Such an amazing variety of bird life and wildlife to entertain you each day as well. Warm heated floor lodgings with cosy bedding always clean(thanks Stacey ), warm fires in the evening, incredibly delicious meals prepared with love( thank you Dustin) served family style around a huge table where the days stories were shared, many pathways to explore and then there was the diving. Our amazing captain Lyle and Rodrigo gave us a dive trip to remember.A large accommodating boat with an ELEVATOR....a great way to come aboard after a cold water dive,The care and planning that went into each dive went a long way to ease our minds, The dive sites were spectacular,, such a diverse array of marine life to be discovered each time under the water.,
Annie and Bill have truly created a small pocket of heaven in a peaceful corner of the world,, We would go back in a moment,, Thanks

I have been a cold water diver for 32 years. I have also been to many exotic destinations (Great Barrier Reef, Red Sea, Belize, Papau New Guinea, Fiji, Mexico) and I spend about half of the year diving close to home in my dry suit (Pacific Northwest). I have been trying to get to God's Pocket for the last decade. All the hype is true! It is fantastic! Bill and Annie are the leaders of this little piece of paradise and they are kind, gentle and extremely hard working. The Resort is nestled in a Provincial Park, so you share the island with the eagles and the wolves. There is no Cell or Internet service and it helps you know that you have made the effort to get off the grid! You can't believe the hydraulic lift on the "Misty Isle". Even if you can't move your fingers because the 44 degree water has sapped your heat, you just paddle to the stern of the boat, stand on the ramp and hold the handles. Magic! The diving is wonderful and we couldn't believe the great species variety that we saw on every dive! The usual suspect includes Pacific Giant octopus, wolf eel, rockfish (big ones), bull kelp, anemones, sponges, soft corals, nudi's. This is the place to go for anyone who thinks they need to have the ultimate cold water experience. Bill and Annie will take care of you! Remember to take your sense of humour. Cold water is hard work. On land, the cabins have radiant heat in the floor (yoga on the floor helped me warm up), and I went with my spouse and we had oodles of privacy. Very romantic. The food was incredible! Each meal was varied and tasty. The attention to detail in the culinary department was most appreciated! We lucked out with the dive group too. Awesome people. Lots of fun all around. We will be back!

Room Tip: There are two cabins with Queen beds.

If you want to experience some of the best cold-water diving in the world, then Browning Pass, located off the northern tip of Vancouver Island, BC, is a must. After doing some research (there isn't really too many options to dive Browning Pass), I quickly chose God's Pocket because of the comfortable, charming accommodations and the fact the dive boat has an elevator!! I don't mind roughing it once in awhile, but if I'm diving in the frigid waters of Browning Pass day in/day out, I absolutely wanted comfort when I was above ground. I got much more than I asked for. God's Pocket is wonderful! The cottages are simple but very comfortable and clean. The food which we shared together at a communal table was fantastic. The people were all wonderful and the owners Bill and Annie made sure everyone was comfortable and enjoyed their stay at God's Pocket. Will I go back? I have already booked a return trip in Oct, 2013!

Spent an amazing week here kayaking with Sea Kayak Adventures - words cannot capture the experience. God's Pocket is a gem of a boat only resort, located in a provincial park of the same name. Charming, welcoming, very well maintained and spotlessly clean, it reflects the loving attention of its owners and staff. So friendly and down to earth, they do all they can to ensure you have a wonderful stay from clean warm rooms (all with ocean views), hot showers after a long day paddling, and wonderful home cooked meals - all in an environmentally friendly and sustainable operation. The marine life was outstanding - something new everyday - seals, sea lions, sea otter, endless stretches of sea stars, anemones, urchins, jellyfish....... It went on and on with the star being daily sitings of humpback whales - often right out front of the resort - observed from the deck. Many varieties of birds in the area with lots of bald eagles. No cell or Internet service was a welcome break from the the daily grind of everyday life.

Sea Kayak Adventures was also fantastic - high quality gear, expert guides with significant experience in the area and kayak guiding, focus on safety, with bonus of broad interpretive talks and information, hikes and walks on the various islands and stops. Highly recommend them as kayak tour operator.

We spent a week diving at God's Pocket, and it was a treat. Very comfortable resort, and the dive boat is very nice. A lift to get back on board!

While the viz was not up to its usual clarity, the diving was quite nice. Lots of marine life, and the dive at Turret Rock in Nakwakto Rapids was excellent. The red Nakwakto gooseneck barnacles are amazing. Spent an afternoon photographing hummingbirds: what a treat!

The only surprise was the tea colour of the tap water. High in tannins, but the taste was fine. Bill and Annie are super hosts, and very much enjoyed staffers Gail (chef) and Anouk (jack of all trades and comedienne).

I had the pleasure of FINALLY diving with Gods Pocket. Everything you've heard is true. Awesome resort, people and come on.... a dive boat with an elevator!!!! It does not get better than that. The life on Browning wall defies description. There is so much that the rock face is not visible. This is a must dive location for the utmost in a cold water diving.
