Just back from a couple of nights in the resort's signature apartment (room 8-2). The building itself is fantastic, albeit the walls are paper thin and our room literally shook (i kid you not) when the couple downstairs came home last night. The structure is on stilts and i can only imagine that contributed to this very strange sensation. We enjoyed the stay at the resort. The location is excellent and you have the wonderful Laughing Oyster restaurant only 200m or so away (check out the restaurants website for some brilliant deals on dining and accommodation at Desolation Resort - MUCH MUCH better that the advertised rates, and interestingly only promoted via the restaurant and not the resort - we felt conned!). We also felt that the resort had fitted out the room with furniture from liquidation sales. It was completely mis-matched, and there wasn't enough of it. The kitchen was adequately well stocked, if you include chipped cups, plates, whcih were again mis-matched. Not that we needed it but the spare (bunk) bed was not made and appeared that someone had simply torn off the previous occupants bed linen and then chucked the duvet back up top. Would go back if someone else paid, not on my own dime. This place has so so much potential and falls so far short. Disappointing.More
