“Very clean, very new, very lovely”
Reviewed 25 August 2014

The property is in a fantastic location overlooking the Cowichan bay strip and the harbour. The morning view is something that leaves a lasting impression on you mind. The suite it self is brand new with very nice finishing, and having the 2nd bedroom, "up and away a few steps" from the main area/bedroom. Great when you have kids. The trampoline in the back proved a fun distraction for the kids, and the back yard in general is beautiful with a lovely seating area and fire pit.
The only "bummer" for us was no freezer, often as a family when you are traveling, you are traveling with food you need to keep cool, and not being able to refreeze our travel packs was less than idea.
We would completely recommend this place, value is reasonable, and the accommodation/location are excellent.
Good luck Leanne & Brock!

Room Tip: There are only two rooms - 1 1 bedroom loft, then a 2 bedroom suite.

We stayed for 6 nights at the beginning of August. The 2 bedroom suite in this 5 level split home was modern, clean with a small kitchen that we used often. My 20 year old daughter had her own bedroom and bathroom. A nice view of Cowichan bay from the kitchen bay window to eat breakfast. Plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, utensils, pots/pans and if you needed something Leanne D. our hostess was more than willing to accommodate. I even got to pick blackberries in her yard and she gave me a dozen eggs from a local farm. Weather permitting and no burn bans one can build a fire in the provided pit. One can walk to the village where there are some excellent restaurants, a bakery, cheese shop, a convenience store. The house is on a hill so the walk to town and back is a work out but manageable. We chose to pack lunches to visit nearby parks and buy groceries to cook simple meals. The town of Duncan is nearby for grocery stores. We liked staying at Cowichan bay because it is near Victoria and many of the attractions near Cowichan Bay, such as the Kinsol Trestle, beaches in Parksville, Nanaimo and the many provincial parks. Trans Canada hwy1 can be very busy, so plan extra time. We also went whale watching (resident orcas) provided by ocean ecoventures which is in the village of Cowichan bay. The 4 hour whale watch was fantastic. We were privileged to view J and K pods! So if you like a more personal touch to your vacation spend it at Cowbayguestsuites. Leanne and her husband Brock are excellent hosts.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in July and the accommodations overlooking the water were just the best. New, bright, extremely clean and comfortable very large suite tastefully decorated with well-equipped kitchen and huge bathroom. Well insulated; we didn't here a peep from the owners who live in the main house. A perfect location to tour the many interesting wineries and one cidery in the area. Also, an easy walk down over the hill in the evening to find dinner along the harbour. Leanne was very welcoming and made us feel right at home.

My husband and I stayed for a week in Cowichan and did not want to leave. Leanne and Brock, their children, and the cat and dog made us feel as if we were staying with old friends. We had both company and tons of privacy. The location is excellent for easy exploring, or you can just hang out on the property and take in the bay view, the birds, and the garden. We can't thank our hosts enough for the wonderful experience they provided and their recommendations for the Monday pizza night out on a farm made us feel like locals.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Cowichan Bay Suites. Leanne & Brock were so friendly and accommodating. The location lends itself to a beautiful view from the room that I stayed in! The suite itself was clean, quiet, private and completely comfortable. The kitchenette had everything that I needed to be able to stock it for my breakfast and lunches for the 6 days I was there. I had most suppers out, exploring all the wonderful places close by. To be able to walk to all the quaint shops, galleries and restaurants in the Bay was an added bonus! I would most definitely stay here again.

We spent two nights here in September 2013 and loved the place. Well positioned for exploring the area (Duncan, Cowichan Lake, Vineyards etc.) and a couple of great restaurants a few minutes away in the village. The apartment is brand new - spacious, luxurious, clean, with friendly helpful hosts. And excellent value, wish we'd stayed longer! Thanks Leanne.
