We chose to visit Rocky Creek winery after a short research on an internet. They showed quite a few “well decorated”/award winning wines, and we wanted to try one of the area “bubbly” wine.
First, the address on Myhrest Road is misleading and our old GPS couldn’t spot it. The winery is easy to find by taking east on Koksilah Road from Hwy. 1. From there, the signs will direct you to Myhrest Road which is like a driveway from Parker Road.
The moment you enter the tasting room you’ll feel like home ~ I am not kidding! The owner-lady drew us into her stories with an unstoppable enthusiasm and charm. She was talking about their beginning, hopes and current plans. We were laughing, tasting, and listening to her fascinating stories on each tasted wine. We were intrigued by their bubble-wine, and at the end we paired their wild blackberry wine with salt-and-pepper chocolate (with real salt and pepper!). Heaven!
We have been drinking wine for a quite few decades, and visited many-many wineries in Washington, Oregon and California. At the same time we are not the wine-snobs, so I’m not going to describe and/or advertizing their selections. After, we visited a couple other wineries in the area, but our “souls” stayed at the Rocky Creek.
