We were blown a way in this very warm welcoming restaurant in the little village of Cowichan Bay. The food was order and within 10 minute we were serve delicious scallops, then fried squids. Fish and chips was next, with tasty huge pieces of fresh cod and the fries were fresh and real nice portion. Very good price, We will be back for sure, WOW!

We had not been to the Rock Cod for quite awhile and so we decided to give it another try. They have cleaned up the place and the service is great but the food is nowhere near what it used to be.
We tried the Mates Plate and because they always give you too many chips we asked them to give us half. The server agreed that this was a good idea and offered us a bit more cold slaw instead. Great we said. Well the meals arrived and there was a great mountain of Cold Slaw and a small pile of chips. The food was OK, the oysters were greasy and the scallops were hard to find they were so small.
Then, when we got our bill, we were charged $3.00 extra for the Cold Slaw. This was too much, but there was no arguing. So we paid and left. We will not be back.

Rock Cod is an eatery style restaurant. When the weather is warm the outdoor seating offers a fabulous view. Otherwise it's a bit of a barn inside.

The food is ordinary pub fare. Nothing to write home about and nothing to complain about either.

Waitstaff are pleasant.

Great food. Be prepared to stand in line if you come at prime times. People come from all over the South Island to eat here. Good variety, great food, generous portions.
The cafe is rustic, but the service is good.
