We camped here in tents for three nights. The staff were very nice. This place is located near a beach that is accessed by a short trail walk. It is a great place for kids and has a playground (and did I mention a beach?) The wifi worked pretty well for us and each camping site has a picnic table and water. Victoria and Sidney are close by and it seems like there is a lot to do.

The grounds and laundry/ washrooms are perfect. The internet leaves a lot to be desired. It's there and then it's not. Quite frustrating to lose it just as you finally get a connection.

We quit trying after the second day and used our cell phone as a hot spot, which worked fine.
We certainly would stay here again, just for the peaceful scenic surroundings and the well kept out buildings.

Saanichton is about 30 mins from downtown Victoria. That being said, this is a very nice RV park. The facilities are clean; the staff are friendly and helpful; the grounds are landscaped and it is close to the water. There is a small playground for children in the centre. The bathrooms are attractive and clean. The wifi is EXCELLENT.

I don't understand the "park is seriously going downhill" comment from another traveller. I saw nothing that indicated that AT ALL.

Showers are $1. Laundry is $2 for a wash and $2 for a dry. All sites have full hook-ups. The summer rates are on the high side, especially when you add on laundry, but average for anything in Victoria that is half ways decent.

I stayed in other parks in Victoria and the surrounding suburbs. This was by far the best and I returned many times over the course of a month.

Clean and appealing park and close to the Butchart gardens however it is quite expensive (71 CAD a night) and they charge extra for the showers (1 CAD per 5 minutes). There are no grocery stores or supermarkets in a walking distance and the nearst ones do not have parking spots for rvs so make sure you buy everythibg in advance. The facilities are clean and inviting.

Thank you for your comment. Our highest rate for the park in peak season in 2013 for one night was $52.00. Other seasons and partial service would be lower than that, so I don't know where the confusion has occurred. You can always check our website for current rates.

We have stayed in this park many times through the last several years for short and long periods. I understand it was sold in the last year and it shows. The park is no where close to the old standard. The staff are still great although there is not as many.

Room Tip: Still a very good park but is going downhill. Unfortunate.

when you go down to the beach be sure to walk up the beach a few hundred feet until you can see the sewage treatment plant and its discharge pipe. not sure if beach has been tested for faecal counts or other micros. no signage to indicate. Perhaps Oceanside should be renamed to reflect this hidden gem. Also, you pay for the WIFI, but it hardly works. No real privacy between sites and for $58 per night, not great value.

We regret that your visit with us was disappointing. Thank you for your comments. We are always interested in customer feedback. Our WIFI is free of charge and generally very reliable. The resort access to the beach runs through the middle of the resort and is well south of the treatment plant. You must have accessed through the Tsawout Reserve land crossing the ditch on the north side of the Park perimeter.
The engineers have advised us that the water exiting the treatment plant is pure and very drinkable. Although it's a little cool, many guests from all over the world have told us how they enjoyed swimming at the beach and watching the Eagles nest and the Osprey soar and dive.
In 2008 the land between the resort and the beach was designated a conservation area. Five governing bodies including Environment Canada, Endangered Species Canada and Ducks Unlimited were assigned to monitor our 211 bird varieties and the unique plant life on the sand dunes of the beach. We feel very fortunate to be located in this very pristine environment.
Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns.

Doing a bike tour of the island and made a reservation at this campground and wasnt disappointed. It is very accessible from the Tsawwassen - Swartz Bay ferry. I got camp set up and then easily accessed the Butterfly Gardens and Butchart Gardens. I stayed in a tenting site. The sites are very big with plenty of room for my tent, a picnic table, and 2 motorcycles. The site 1 is next to some shrubs but no large trees for shade. The bathrooms are renovated and very clean. There is a group fire pit and community kitchen accessible.
There is a remote beach that you can visit. It is a bit of a hike through some bush, maybe 500 m or so. Careful not to stay too late or you may lose the path in the dark.
Overall, this campground was perfect for my purposes. Easy access from ferry and to tourist attractions. Also, not too far from downtown Victoria. There are a few things in the neighbourhood that you may need like fast food restaurants and gas.
Staff was friendly and cheerful and had me ready for check in upon arrival.
Clean, quiet, campground.
