Just returned from an overnight stay in one of the farms 'lux' wigwams. So glad we went for the lux as we caught a glimpse inside one of the basic ones and to be honest I think my garden shed would have been more spacious.
However, the lux was so much better. Spacious, warm, well equipped and more than comfortable.
Checking in was simple, the ranger also provided electricity cards (£1 each) for the wigwam. We bought two and still had over £1.50 left in the morning after using the microwave, and cooker, and the shower and having the heating on all night. Great value I would say.
Had dinner at the Crown Hotel (5 min walk away). Was advised to go the the other village pub by the ranger as he said the food was better (and dearer). Chose the cheaper option and was pleasantly surprised at getting two courses for £8.50 of very decent pub grub.
Used the wigwam as a base for sightseeing in Stirling which is about 15-20 minutes away.
Our 9yr old son found the whole experience an adventure and I have only given 4/5 as the on site bike hire was unmanned when we tried to use it and he was very disappointed.
We will return.
