“Good value for money hotel”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 14 November 2011

This was our second trip to the Pilgrim Hotel, our first was as a couple, but this time we came to Herefordshire for a half term break with our 2 sons aged 4 and 2. We had activities planned for each day and the hotel is in a great location for exploring the area. The staff couldn't do enough for us - so kind and helpful. The room was large and comfortable and kept immaculately clean for us throughout our 3 night stay - no mean feat with 2 lively and rather messy boys! The food in the restaurant was first class and the children's menu was ideal for the boys being served wherever we wanted it to be; in the lounge (which we had to ourselves) or our room - nothing was too much trouble. One of the ladies who cleaned our room brought in a quilt from home for the travel cot as she worried that our little one might be cold in the night when the weather changed. Way over and beyond what we would expect from a hotel and sadly lacking in so many other places. We had a wonderful stay and at £160 per night for DB&B so much cheaper than hiring a cottage. We will definitely be back. Thank you, Pilgrim!

Room Tip: If choosing a family room, try to get one on the ground floor if you can. We were on the first floo...

Our weekend break was to celebrate our 1st anniversary, we couldn't have made a better choice. The Hotel is warm, welcoming and friendly. The staff were accomadating but not imposing. The food is excellent and they have a traditional 'country pub' bar.
I would strongly reccommend this hotel to friends looking for a relaxing intimate stay.

We (my husband's elderly and less abled parents) and my husband, myself and two large labradors have just spent 2 nights at The Pilgrim Hotel. What a hidden gem! Great warm welcome when we arrived, lovely large bedrooms with views over the grounds and very quiet.
Parents had the "Wet" room and found it very useful. Enjoyed Sylvias' shortbread in the room.
Dinner both nights was very pleasant, freshly cooked and they even supplied a cushion for mum in law! Breakfast both mornings was super (only thing missing was fresh fruit salad).
Gardens are fabulous for the dogs pity about the misty weather I'm sure the views are fantastic.
We would strongly recommend others to try it!

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms are the only ones available if you have dogs. However I think the Executive room...

Sept 2011 booked a three night break for my wife and myself. Our ground floor room was very spacious and well appointed with lovely views. The bathroom was great with a walk in shower, the beds extremely comfortable. The food was first class and all the staff were friendly and most helpful. We will certainly stay there again

My husband and I along with our two dogs, have just returned from a visit to the Hereford area. Having dogs it can be difficult to find suitable accomodation. The Pilgrim Hotel welcomed us to a ground floor room which was large, clean, very comfortable with great views. The staff were very helpful and the food was great. We would highly recommend this excellent hotel; we will certainly stay again.

Thank you, to all the team at the Pilgrim Hotel, we had a wonderful, relaxed stay.

Room Tip: Valley rooms have a great view

In June 2011 I booked the hotel for two groups in consecutive weeks. Pat, the Manageress helped me to arrange the accommodation to suit all the individual needs of my group, and went to a great deal of trouble to arrange the menus for the three dinners. The food was very good, on time and happily served by the well trained waitresses. Pat and the dedicated breakfast chef had the breakfast routine down to a fine art, nobody waited more than a couple of minutes to be served and the breakfast arrived very quickly and with hot, crispy toast! The reception team are happy and guests are welcomed with a smile which is why we chose this hotel. We visit a different area each year and my group thought this was one of the best hotels that we have used. I thoroughly recommend it to you.

Room Tip: Most of the rooms are on the west side with far reaching views. None of the rooms are noisy.

My son and his wife held their wedding reception here and we chose to stay in a four-poster bed room. The staff were most attentive, food is magnificent, the wedding reception was fabulous and the whole weekend was unforgettable. This is an excellent hotel with stunning views, brilliant staff and we would highly recommend it. Thanks to Pat and all her staff for going the extra mile.
