I stayed here on business a couple of times in December.
The bedrooms are en suite, plain, clean and adequately furnished but rather small. Perfectly OK for a few days for one person, but I wouldn't want to stay more than a couple of nights if I was sharing. The bed was fairly comfortable and, whilst I could sometimes hear the extractor mentioned by other reviewers, it didn't cause me any problem getting to sleep.
The menu has a reasonable choice and the food is good.
The piece de resistance of this establishment though, has to be the roaring log burners and the superb range of excellently kept beers. This is a freehouse and it has 5/6 real ales and scrumptious ciders on offer at a time. Shame I couldn't sample them all, but I had to work the next day............
