This is a cosy well equipped cottage. Great for four of us. Lovely touches such as hot water bottles and spare heaters which we appreciated as we had a week of snow!
Great walks straight from the door and pub across the road.
Tips: We had no phone signal and lost data connection in Swaledale - print off instructions for entry before arrival - we had to use pub phone to find access code!
Limited range in local village stores (3 and 6 miles away) but Sainsbury's deliver!
Bring matches for wood burner. I expect there are usually some here but we had to go 6 miles to find some.Good supply of logs in shed.
There is no mobil phone signal for Giffgaff users.
However the internet connection in the house is excellent and provided for needs of teenagers perfectly.
We loved this cottage and this part of the Yorkshire Dales.
Well furnished and well equipped with a wood burner in the lounge. All other rooms well heated apart from the kitchen. Very close to village pub which does food.
Only problems were no hot water to the sink in top floor bathroom and inadequate back door (gaps) in the kitchen enabled us to use the floor space next to it as an additional overflow fridge! We did have cold weather with snow while we were there.
Stayed over New Year and had a wonderful time. The property was extremely well equipped and comfortable. A real home from home. Thanks to the owners.
i was really impressed by our stay in this lovely cottage. It had lots of character and was well presented. It was well equipped with everything we needed. 3 lovely double rooms so we could go away with friends. Weather outside was pretty wet and windy to say the least. However, my highlight had to be the open fire - It was lovely having a drink with friends in front of the fire!

Four of us stayed in the cottage and it was exactly what we needed. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and the lounge was perfect for relaxing in the evenings.
From here we visited lots of different places; a beautiful Gunnerside walk with geocaching, redmire force, castle bolton, the forbidden corner and embsay steam train were our favourites. I would recommend the fish and chip van that comes through on a Friday night and the Punchbowl Inn in Low Row for a nice dinner one night (we pre-booked).
Our only small foible was that we could never find the right switch to turn on the lights and that if all 6 of us had come like originally planned it may well have been a tight squeeze for eating and sitting (although there are extra chairs but space was a bit tight).
However there were so many pluses and a very helpful booklet made up for how to "use" the house and all the local activities.
If I was to come to this area again I would definitely stay here. Thank you.
