We loved staying in the cottage. It was rather cold on arrival but soon warmed up once the electric radiators were on and log fire lit in the burner.
Bedrooms were cosy. We would recommend a new mattress soon on one of the twin beds. Should be ok for a child but heavier adult felt a bit uncomfortable.
Loved having a soak in the bath after a chilly walk out over nearby hills. We had everything we needed and would return for another stay.
My family enjoyed a lovely 4 night stay at Burnside Cottage. The property is in a great location especially for walkers/cyclists and not too far to drive to larger nearby towns. The cottage is furnished to a good standard and was very comfy with plenty of space, even for a family of five. We particularly enjoyed the evenings spent around the log burner/stove. Communication regarding booking etc with the owner was straight forward and prompt. We would highly recommend staying at Burnside Cottage.
We spent 4 fantastic nights at Burnside Cottage for my 1 year old and partners birthdays at the end of September.
The cottage is absolutely beautiful! Very well maintained, decorated to a high standard and everything you need is supplied.
The master bedroom was big enough for us to have the travel cot up and the other 2 rooms were a good size. Kitchen well equiped with pots, pans etc.
Bathroom and shower room were clean (take bubble bath for the gorgeous roll top in the main bathroom)
Little seating area in the back although we didn't use this.
The log burner was a particular highlight as it was turning chilly in an evening.
We walked through the village and along the riverbank and Gunnerside was central for visiting Aysgarth, Ingleton and Malham. We could not have asked for more.
The owner was quick to respond to my queries by email and all in all it was the perfect family break - we cannot wait to return
Burnside Cottage is very well situated in the centre of Gunnerside with brilliant walks straight from the doorstep. The cottage has everything you need for a great stay: we particularly appreciated the warming stove in the lounge and the well equipped kitchen. The Kings Head was welcoming and the food good. We were only there for 3 days and wished it could have been longer. If the cottage ever comes up for sale we would love to buy it!
We stayed for 5 nights at the end of June and found the cottage to be very clean and welcoming. There was only the 2 of us but it would comfortably accommodate 5 to 6 guests. The cottage was very well equipped, especially in the kitchen, althougn we chose to eat out. The location in the village is excellent with parking outside, the pub less than a minutes walk and the mobile fish and chip van stops outside on a Friday. There is no shop in the village and with no welcome pack make sure you have a pint of milk with you for the first night.
We had a wonderful stay at this cottage and immediately felt at home. Plus: It is right in the heart of the Dales, so you can easily get to all interesting destinations in the area around. Hope to come back soon! Thanks for all, Graeme!
Second stay in this cosy and comfortable cottage. Didn't disappoint and we would hIghly recommend it, see my earlier review.
