Apartment is in Msida area which has few shops, restaurants and cafes. Our agent was very informative and all the details were provided before arrival. The apartment is quite modern and was left clean on our arrival. The balcony has great views to the City of Valletta. I think it is more suitable for those who enjoy exploring the area rather than partying as the apartment is in residential part. Although recommend it as it is good quality for the price.
We stayed here, 4 of us, from the 12th-22nd August 2013..
Location: You are literally minutes from bus stops which can take you to Valletta, Sliema, St Julians etc... Sliema is a 20 minute stroll away.
Accommodation size: The sleeping and entertaining areas in this property are more than adequate for a party of 5, I would say 5 is the max as one of the bedrooms is a single.
Wifi: Free wifi was available for the whole stay which is a bonus.
Pots & pans had scratches and ground in grease marks, cups had chips & not enough to cater for the advertised amount of guests, BBQ was not cleaned from its last use (We didn't cook a single meal in the property, we just warmed in a micro) bedding had stains on (it was definitely clean but the marks were a bit off putting) the bed frame in the main bedroom creaked every time I slightly moved, missing lightbulbs, general level of cleanliness throughout the property ...etc
This property was lovely to look at on the advertisement and probably was when everything was new but its main downfall is its general upkeep, it just wasn't up to scratch... On the surface it looked ok(ish) but once you looked a bit deeper it was unloved and unclean, nothing was to "Stunning Penthouse" standard... I messaged our contact to explain our issues, none of which were outrageous we just wanted the place to a certain standard of cleanliness, we were asked to text back a list of issues, this was in fact the problem, I would have expected someone to come round and look for themselves then get the issues sorted rather than expect the paying guest to explain what they are? none of the issues raised were dealt with immediately if at all....
We had a problem with ants so decided to do a proper clean ourselves, Im told its an issue when the weather gets hot, which we notified them about, 3 days and some more texts later someone came out and explained that they had never had this problem before, he inspected the area and could see how clean we had kept the place so put powder and spray everywhere, it seemed to help a little but never fully cleared the problem.....
Despite the issues i've raised here, if this place was cleaned/maintained properly it would be lovely base for a holiday in a beautiful part of the world, the weather was fantastic and the places to visit were many. it has 2 balconies which are sun traps and seating to sit and enjoy the cooler evenings.. The property managers were great and allowed us to stay beyond the checkout time at no extra cost to ourselves....
I would definitely recommend this rental BUT only if the issues were sorted..

I travelled with a group of 6 people to Malta, staying at this apartment for 7 nights. It's located in Msida, and is a 2 minutes walk to the nearest bus stop and 5 minute stroll to the beautiful marina in Ta-Xbiex. Booking with the agent Ralph Vella was very straight-forward, and I found him very flexible to deal with - we had a couple of requests that he was able to accommodate without hassle. We opted for a taxi-transfer as arranged by the letting company, an inexpensive option if you are travelling as a group and takes the hassle out of having to locate the apartment on your own. A €200 security deposit was given to the agent and returned promptly on departure.
The apartment was exactly as described and there were no unexpected or hidden surprises. Located in a quiet residential area, the penthouse is on 2 levels - 3 good sized bedrooms (2 double, 1 single) and a bathroom on the lower level and the large open plan living space / kitchen area is accessible via a spiral staircase. Both the front and back balconies are found on the top level, off the living area. The views from the front balcony were outstanding - right across the south of Malta. There was also a brand new gas BBQ available for use which we took great pleasure in using on one occasion.
The apartment was in a good clean condition as we would have expected. Towels were provided. There is also free WiFi included in the rental.
Electricity is supplied through a pre-paid meter and we had around €55 credit on the meter when we arrived - this was included in the rental price. A €20 token was also provided in case we ran out - chargeable at the end of our stay if we used it. Regrettably we had to use all €75 of electricity credit... We put this down to the use of the air-conditioning which we used quite liberally throughout the week! This did not come as a surprise as the agent forewarned about the expense of the air-conditioning.
We found the location to be excellent and especially ideal if you are spreading your travels between both Valletta and Sliema - the bus takes you to both in 10 minutes either direction.
There is an excellent licensed convenience store called 'Damascus' right across the street which is open 7am-11pm and run by an English chap - you'll get all you need from there. There is also a fruit and veg store approximately 30 steps away, and a hairdressers across the road.
I would strongly recommend this apartment to families of 4-6 people. I cannot wait to go back to Malta in the near future!
