“Good value & location”
Reviewed 8 August 2014

Rooms are either new or fairly recently refurbished & of a decent size. Plenty of parking on the doorstep & good breakfast available next door in the Grafton pub. Location is handy for Hereford (yes, you have to drive) & surrounding area. Good value, no issues staying there again if in the area.

Room Tip: Try & get a room well away from any of the noisy fire doors in the corridors

Stayed two nights and will try elsewhere next time. The hotel is miles from anywhere although there is a pub (The Grafton see review) next door that serves food mainly to the captive audience from the Travelodge. We stayed on the second floor and found the room stiflingly hot. The window only opened about 75 c.m (3") and there was no ventilation at all in the corridor. On complaining at reception we were given a fan. The parking is free and adjacent to the hotel. We found the staff to be friendly and in a limited way helpful. This is the cheapest Travel lodge I have ever stayed in. There is a reason.

Room Tip: Don't choose the upper floor in summer.

Down pipes not terminated correctly so rainwater noise VERY intrusive overnight. Shower in one room (16) did not work. Room clean and comfortable but lacked toiletries. Otherwise ok except pub next door not good at all.

On arrival, we were greeted by a friendly and genuine member of staff, who was both perky and helpful. She directed us to our rooms, and on first glance, all seemed fine....

First thing we noticed, was there was no side tables, and/or power points near the bed, so any phones that needed charging over night, would need to be placed on the other side of the room. Plus, the hotel had no reception for phones, on all the networks ourselves and our friends were on. With this in mind, and the fact the hotel is part of a huge and well known chain, you would think wifi would be provided. It was, but only for 30min, then you had to pay.... I was shocked at this.

The tv was something else that caught my eye, quite literally. It was at the end of the bed on the wall, but stuck out enough that I hit my face on it, both hurting and embarrassing the hell out of me. Also, the tv had very little choice, and the remote was pretty much useless.

To add to all this, our friends in the other room, had to move to another as the smell in the drains in the first one was horrendous.

We slept fine, and the staff were helpful and friendly, but apart from that, you wonder what your £75 is actually paying for.

Easily found and a fantastic location. Beautifully clean and free from knocked walls and stained carpets. The bathroom was spotless. There was plenty of room to park in the free car park. A bar/restaurant is adjacent to the Travelodge

If its a comfortable room for a good night's sleep at a reasonable price this is what you are looking for. No trouble sleeping on the firm but comfortable bed with four pillows. The shower and toilet facilities were well maintained and were always clean and fresh.
