My husband and I had a relaxing stay at Holme Lacy House. We had a spacious Junior suite which meant that we could eat in the Orchard restaurant. The service here was attentive and the food well prepared and presented. The other guests were friendly and the evening entertainment was very enjoyable.
Having run a business, I know that how problems are dealt with maintains or loses customer trust. Our problem on arrival was resolved immediately and with courtesy.
This was our first visit to a Warner hotel and we will definitely be using them again. We hope to return to this tranquil hotel when we take early retirement later on in the year.

This was our fourth venue and sixth Warner experience. The entertainment team was the best we have encountered. The house, grounds and rooms the usual Warner standard but the ambience, service and food in the restaurants not up to their usual.
The setting is lovely and the grounds attractive with fantastic topiary and "secret passages". The floral displays werent as spectacular as Littlecote or Cricket St Thomas but they were pleasant and well tended. The lounges were not quite as elegant as some of the other venues but were smart, comfortable and cosy. Our standard room was a good size and the bathroom recently upgraded. The room our friends occupied was smaller and had yet to have a makeover. Both were spotlessly clean and comfortable.
Both the ordinary restaurants were rather cramped and had poorly lit annexes. Although a choice was advertised on arrival we found this was only for those who could check in before 16:00. We had four different waiters. Two were excellent, two were poorly trained and did not manage to remember our orders, organise serving all our dishes at once or clear used dishes in time. The variety on the menu was OK but the vegetables were often overcooked and overwarmed and I had to take one lot of carvery meat back because it was so dry and hard I could not cut it. If this had been our first Warner experience we would not have been so disappointed by the food. We were going in to eat relatively late too so this may have contributed to the quality of the dishes.
The entertainment team worked really hard and managed to out on a good and varied programme. They and the guest acts were the best we have seen at a Warners. We loved the animal show but everything we watched or participated in was enjoyable.
The swimming pool was bigger than average and pleasant - the only downside was the lack of a spinner for costumes

Thank you for your recent review on your stay with us. I am happy that you enjoyed most aspects of your holiday with us and I will be passing your constructive feedback to all relevant team members, including those in our restaurant and kitchen teams, enabling them to focus on the areas of concern raised by you.
I am glad that you have noticed and referenced our entertainment programme content. A lot of work has gone into ensuring we have a good balance and varied day and evening entertainment to cater for everyone’s tastes.
Also, I would like to say, based on feedback received regarding the installation of a costume spinner in the swimming pool changing room area, this has now been put in place.
Once again thank you for taking your time to feedback to us and I hope to see you back with us soon.

We are 'Four Seasons@ fans and booked ther to have ameal and see the show of 'Let' Hang On'. We were impressed just driving thru' the gates. The 3 course meal was very good and cost us £19.95. All staff and waiters were extremely helpful and polite. The facilities and grounds need to be seen and experienced they are superb! We are so impressed that we have immeadiately booked a 3 day break next January.

Both I and my wife stayed at Holme Lacy House in Hereford on 15 - 18 June 2012 and can honestly say that the entertainment, including the Star Act on the Saturday Night (The New Squadronaires) was excellent. All credit to the Entertainments Manager for the way that he conducted the whole weekend. The service by all of the staff, in all of the departments, throughout the whole weekend, was without fault and we were left very satisfied and looking forward to our next break.

As it happened, we returned to Holme Lacy House the following weekend 22 – 25 June 2012 as part of a Group of Thirteen. We found that all of the Staff, were just as efficient, this being from check in all the way through to departure.
Even though the entertainment was the same as the weekend previous, (that is to say that it was the same entertainment staff with the same routine), we were pleasantly surprised to find that the experience was just as enjoyable. We would have no qualms about recommending Holme Lacy House to anyone for a break and we would love to return again in the near future.

Our Group have expressed that the break at Holme Lacy House (22 – 25 June 2012) was the best that they had ever experienced. This, even after having stayed at quite a few Warner Hotels at various locations throughout the country over the past ten years.

Well done and keep up the good work!

The answer is no.Not that it is that bad but it is not very good either.Having been to several Warners hotels before, you get a good idea as to what to expect & this was our first stay here.We stayed in an Ambassador room which was spacious, clean & comfortable, although very warm despite cool weather. The house & grounds are very well kept & you really do get the feel that you are in a country estate. The reception & bar staff are very pleasant & efficient.

So why did we feel let down ?

Although the entertainers tried very hard they didn't really pull it off & are not as good as we have seen at other venues.
The food & service in the restaurant was the biggest let down. The menus were unimaginative & the quality of the food was compromised. We felt that the waiting staff were poorly trained & the service subsequently suffered.
All in all an O K stay but we would certainly not drive very far to repeat the experience.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor rooms as everyone will be walking past to get anywhere.

We decided on the spur of the moment to try a Warners Break over a week-end. We did not know what to expect. Reception staff were welcoming and helpful. We booked a Signature room. Room 354. I looked forward to a break from watching football so took along one of my DVDs expecting to find the advertised DVD player. I reported it twice and it turned up on the Sunday afternoon before we left on the Monday. I was disappointed too with the rather depressing view from the room over a metal roof. My other grumble was that the bath did not empty. We had to shower and the water gradually rose up the bath! This was reported and a very nice plumber tried to rectify the matter but was not successful. I did ask at reception if this was a Signature room. I was told initially 'no' then assured it was as it had recently been upgraded. (There was a strong smell of paint!!)
I have completed 2 questionnaires that Warners sent me but have had no response.
BUT there were highlights! The history tour around the house was brilliant. Also the leisure facilities could not be faulted - the rifle shooting, golf, gardens, gym and swimming pool. Food was good and service excellent. The entertainment -The Squadronaires were very good as were the opportunities to dance. The entertainment team were very enthusiastic.

Room Tip: Enquire from hotel itself about anything you may be worried about to ensure you are not disappointed...

Stayed in a Historic Room, essentially a small suite. Very comfortable. A single space that split into longue and bed areas. Bathroom was large. Part of the room rate was fine dining which was delicious. My partner didn't particulary care for the menu but the staff were happy to bring food from the other restaurant. Service overall was excellent. Staff are friendly and efficient. I had two quibbles (and they are minor); firstly you need to get down to the restaurant early to book a decent time we ended up being given 1945hrs for the three days we were there (not a real pain but it is a pity we couldn't change the times), secondly the restaurant ran out of my preferred desserts twice; due to the late serving I presume. These niggles have stopped the overall rating being excellent. Entertainment was good. Note the majority of guests are very elderly. The ground floor corridors are an assault course of electric scooters during the night. That said the atmosphere was good.

Room Tip: The best tip is to get down to the restaurant early to choose a suitable time slot.

Thank you for your kind feedback on your recent holiday with us. I am happy to hear that you had the opportunity to experience our fine dining Orchard Restaurant and service during your stay. We are lucky to have 3 restaurants at Holme Lacy and the Orchard Restaurant is a very popular choice hence sometimes the availability of preferred dining times is limited to ensure we deliver the excellent service you have experienced.
Hope to see you back with us soon.
