Description: The Royal Oak is a traditional pub with a local drinking trade and a heavy emphasis on being a traditional pub in a very informal setting ,serving fresh food in a very casual bar setting rather than gastro style, we are a 16th century thatched cottage pub with an eclectic mix of furniture. So if you like the old fasioned pub but with very good freshly prepared food and you don't mind the odd local popping in for a pint we are the place for you.

The Royal Oak is well worth a visit, the food appears to be prepared freshly on site by one chef/person so be prepared to wait, we felt more than worth it. We went on Saturday night and went for the steak and one of the specials, Braised lamb, both were delicious, Woburn can be pricey but there are options and this is definitely one of the best alternatives to breaking the bank!

Landlord Terry and Chef Tommy certainly pulled the goodies out the bag yet again .. Fabulous Pie Night at the Royal Oak - a Pie and a pint (great pint I must say ) or a glass of wine () for £9.00 simply delicious. My pie was a lamb and rosemary one served with new potatoes and buttered cabbage. On the menu of choice were also a - Chicken and Gammon & Curried vegetable pie however Tommy does change the menu choice every week. Right then ... who's up for a pie

Visited The Royal Oak for Sunday lunch as Woburn is midway between our home and my son's home in Hertfordshire. He picked the venue and we were definitely not disappointed. Lovely home cooked food at down to earth prices. Plenty of choice and children were catered for with no problem. Definitely be back.

Went for lunch today, arrived almost at opening and the pub was cold but every effort was made to warm it up ASAP. Small but perfectly formed lunch menu, my lamb burger was definitely just made and went at least 8oz, hand made Chips and a fresh rocket salad. And the burger was in nice bread! My partner had ham egg and chips, reportedly the best he had had. The house white was a good price too. Will definitely go back.

We live in the village,we went for a family Sunday meal. Just what you want. Not one of these fancy theme pubs. A proper pub selling proper pub grub at the right price. We will be going again. 10/10 thanks terry and your team. I will telling all of my clients to give your pub a try. This is what a village needs. Cheers.
