I stayed at the base b&b for 10 days with my family, we all enjoyed it.
The room was clean, comfortable with all facilities available.
It has a very good value for money.
Would definitely recommend to other travellers and would stay there again for sure.

Stayed here for a stag do, having the seperate apartments was perfect, great rooms, gardens away from the main house gave us somewhere to chill out. Rooms all tidy and clean, and showers and bathrooms were nice. Would definitely stay here again. Didnt meet the owners, but in contact before, and made organising 16 blokes that little bit easier. Thanks

I thought The Base was excellent value for money, especially compared to other budget B&Bs I've stayed in. I love the way you can pick your room from the photos & descriptions on the website, so you really know exactly what you're getting. I stayed in Room 7 - Single en-suite at the back of the property. It was quiet, clean & fresh feeling, but also had little personal touches in the decor that made it feel much more homely than a premier inn type hotel. I didn't use the kitchen as I ate out with friends but it looked gorgeous. Will definitely stay here again.

Stayed here for a second time in room 7. Clean, well equipped and I like the self-catering service. It used to be a vegetarian guesthouse and the main self-catering kitchen is still only for preparing vegetarian/ vegan meals. Fair-Trade and recycling are important values for the owners and if every hotel/ guesthouse in the world should be so conscious it would really make a difference. Also I think they do the laundry in mild eco-friendly washing liquid/ powder, because in this place the blankets don't have the horrible smell of synthetic washing powder. (which also means not travelling home with that synthetic smell in your night clothes!). There are several buslines passing the guesthouse to towncentre, busstation and trainstation Temple Meads anyway. From Temple Meads I paid 10 pound by taxi to the guesthouse so that is also very reasonable. If you travel on a low budget and don't want to end up in a shabby place this is the place to be.

Room Tip: Room 7 (single room) is on the garden side and quiet. Front rooms have a busy road. But a tip for al...

Lovely room, spacious and modern however we could hear clearly the conversion in the next room which went on until past midnight. Serious soundproofing issues. We were in room 3. Shared bathroom. Parkibg tight and only for four cars

The room was small but very clean and the bed very comfortable. The car parking was not so easy as all the spaces at The Base were taken and I had to find off street parking.
I arrived late and was off early so did not use the kitchens, but I would stay here again if in Bristol.

Been staying at this place whilst working in Bristol, and it is great - warm, clean, and all the usual mod-cons. It is set-up as a self catering affair, with a large kitchen to use with most things you'd expect, and private rooms, most ensuite, others not. The owners seem very friendly and helpful, and made booking large periods easy and worth my while. As the checkin / checkout process is kinda not necessary (you get your key from a key safe with a unique passcode for you, and drop the keys off after you leave), it feels very much like a home from home set-up, without the hassle of renting a room of a stranger :-)

Locally there are plenty of amenities - several supermarkets (Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Aldi, etc) an international food place, several restaurants and a local park and access to the motorway.

Overall, recommend this place to anyone wanting a well priced, nicely maintained and functional place to stay in Bristol.
