“Good location, great breakfast, useless lifts”
Reviewed 13 August 2014

On the edge of the older (and smarter) part of town, and just about walkable from Station (we didn't), its in a great location. A fairly smart hotel, but not quite on the same level as other Radisson's; felt like a posh Travelodge. Rooms were clean and comfortable, with good air-con and soundproofing. Breakfast was very good; got a discounted rate on checkin (wasn't included in the price of the room).

Normally a room on the 14th floor would be a bonus but in a hotel with some of the worst lifts ever, being that high was a pain. Seems a bit petty but after you've been waiting 5 minutes for a lift more than a few times over a weekend the joke wears thin; on our way down one day we were asked if we could step out of the lift so someone who'd been waiting for a long time with bags and needed to be at the airport urgently could get in.

With a decent deal for a room near the ground I'd recommend it; don't pay over the odds and avoid anything above the 3rd floor.

Room Tip: Avoid high floors.

Thank you for your review.

We constantly work to improve both our product and the quality of service we offer. I understand your frustrations about the lift's and this something we have invested in significantly over the past 12 months and something we will continue to focus on improving for our future guests.

Best Regards
John

Birthday celebrations - 18 persons all accommodated for
Fantastic rate as booked well in advance - big difference for those who booked later!!
Bit of a pain to find due to road diversions & a confused satnav, happy on arrival to find the Bristol Harbour Festival the same weekend
Parking charges seem high but only alternative was pennies difference, an additional £46 was needed per for the 2 nights, so be prepared!!
Swift check in & pleasant spacious room, hotel participating in celebrations with music & drinks at entrance to hotel - very busy!!
Staff in main bar seemed very serious & not particularly welcoming, this does not reflect on all other staff that seemed welcoming during our stay
Room clean, comfy bed, lots of room only downfall was the lifts had a mind of their own & became very frustrating!!
On departure the reception seemed very busy & chaotic but there were lots of people collecting cars etc, maybe an alternative process may be useful for hotel to avoid congestion of bodies & delays
Overall pleasant stay in a fantastic vibrant city with a perfectly located hotel.

Fantastic hotel. Great location. Unfortunately there is not a lot to see in Bristol you can skip this city. There is a great Chinese food restaurant within 1 minute walk from the hotel. Large flat screen TV in the room and free fast WiFi.

Reviewed 10 August 2014

I have just returned from a night at the Radisson Blu Bristol. I was travelling with my children and requested two inter-connecting standard rooms on a high floor with a good view of the river. I sent an email at 8am on Saturday, the day of arrival, to check everything was in place, only to receive an automatic reply saying that they would respond on Monday. I therefore phoned and was told the only two interconnecting rooms that were available were on the 4th floor. I asked what the view was like to which the lady said that there are buildings adjacent to the hotel. When we arrived I asked again, only to be told that those were the only two inter-connecting rooms available. I had chosen this hotel because it boasts fabulous views over the city and had made my reservation (and requests) 6 months before we were due to stay. This is the view we looked out on. As you can see the adjacent building is VERY tall and therefore there must be MANY rooms with no view at all! Had I known this is what we would get I would NEVER have chosen to stay there. BEWARE! I spent £300 for 1 night! Extremely disappointing and over-priced.

Dear Sally,

We appreciate you taking the time to write a review.

I'm sorry to hear that you did not have a room with a view for your stay with us, the hotel has nearly 180 rooms situated across 18 floors. Many of our rooms have fantastic views and we always try our best to meet with the expectations and request of our guests.

Came to Bristol for the wedding of Albion's Musical Director, composer and his partner Philippa (female singer and teacher) at Bristol Cathedral.
What a venue, just by Watersmead and the bars but quiet in the hotel. Stunning views from the 10th floor over all of Bristol with the balloon festival happening while we there and if that was not enough, then a firework display on the Thursday night over the catherdral!
Lovely place to visit - bustling without being over crowded. Plenty to look at see and explore.
The staff are very good, patient, polite and attentive. Excellent breakfast!
Thank you for a wonderful stay!
