“Fab room, fab view”
Reviewed 28 August 2014 via mobile

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Rooms were spacious and reasonably priced and the view was incredible! Would stay again. Would recommend requesting a room on one of the higher floors. The breakfast room service was also excellent. Thanks

I enjoyed my stay here overall, and can recommend it. It has modern, clean, and spacious rooms. The breakfast is good, and the staff friendly. Location is great, being right next to the harbour, with
Otis of choice for evening food and entertainment.

This hotel was a great location for my hen weekend - easy to walk to the shopping centre, waterfront restaurants and bars, and the theatre is right opposite. I had booked 7 rooms, and there was a slight mix up with the last of the group to arrive, as the rooms had been allocated and reception said they didn't know which was the empty room! The girls were given a key but the room was already occupied. I was the first to check in and had room 506 - it was OK for space, but very dark - even with all the lights on in the middle of a sunny afternoon! After seeing some of the other rooms- I would suggest requesting a room on the higher floors, as we were facing a wall that blocked all daylight. The staff were helpful on the whole. Food was great, and the Long Island Iced Tea was the groups favourite tipple! I think the bar staff were probably fed up making them!!

Room Tip: Higher floors have daylight!

This hotel is excellently located for exploring Bristol city centre; about 20 minute walk from Temple Meads and round the corner from Harbourside. We checked in really easily and staff were very friendly indeed. Room was on the sixth floor with excellent views across the square to the harbour, but carpets were a little scruffy, with a coffee stain by the bed.

Breakfast buffet was excellent quality and with a great choice of sweet and savoury, including different options in a self-serve full English as well as pastries, breads and cold meats and cheeses.

Rooms need a refurb, but other than that, an excellent stay and good value for such a central location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view - no extra cost but big windows make it worth it.

Stayed in a business class room on the top floor, probably the best choice in this hotel, the view is great.
The room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Free bottled water, soft drinks and nespresso coffee machine in the room. Very kind and helpful staff. Good buffet breakfast.
The only issue about this hotel is that there are only 2 lifts and during peak hours you could wait a lot to use it!

Room Tip: Choose a room on the top floor

Stayed here for the second time, we love the hotel and the location and especially the top floor views.
This time we stayed as part of my husbands city hopping birthday journey and the hotel left him a card and cake as well as giving us an amazing high room with incredible views. We booked business and we were thrilled with the room, the decor, the space, the bathroom and all the little touches ( pc Ethernet cable, coffee machine etc )
We spent a good few hour chilling in the room on the bed ( which by the way is AMAZING ) but we needed to visit the chemist opposite.
We both popped out for 10 mins max and on our return we found the door open. We were not happy! We had some very expensive camera equipment in the room as well as money jewellery and passports . After stepping into the room, feeling fear and starting to check our belongings as well as taking together about why the room could be open and how upsetting it was, a maintenance guy emerged from the bathroom?
He told us he was checking the room!?
Why at 6? Pm I do not know?, especially as we didn't check in until around 4pm.
He hesitated in the bathroom, not speaking or doing anything then came out and left.
This is the reason I would now not be giving the hotel 5 stars. We feel vulnerable and untrusting of the hotel now and are unsure if we will be back.

This hotel is well located in the centre of Bristol and is close to the shops, theatres, tourist attractions and restaurants. The rooms are large, clean and quiet and those on the upper floors have a great view of the city or harbourside. Food in the restaurant is good quality

Room Tip: Higher floors are quieter and it is worth the extra for a business class room
