Very nice hotel next to the floating harbour. The staff are very friendly and always smiling and seem to have the knack of knowing what you need before you do! I have stayed in loads of hotels in Bristol and this is the best by far. Combination of modern hotel and facilities and old fashioned charm and manners.

A good hotel in the centre of Bristol. The hotel lobby is funky and modern and offers a great place to meet friends.
The room I had was small but I did get it at a low price. The room was nicely decorated with a great en suite bathroom and shower.

The staff were helpful and friendly - car parking was also included in the room price.

I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Go for the biggest room of your budget

I have stayed in quite a few hotels due to work and this is one of the absolute best. All the staff right down to the cleaners were amazingly friendly and polite and nothing was too much trouble. Well worth a visit and Breakfast is fantastic - crispy bacon which you don't get very often !!

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the waterfront are fantastic.

My husband booked this hotel due to the good reviews and location for my birthday.
We booked a dinner and breakfast deal for the first night, and the passion package for the second night.
The hotel called the day prior to our arrivage to check if we would like the passion package delivered on the first night also because it they knew it was my birthday. I thought this was very good service, and said that it would be great to have the champagne etc in the room on arrival.
We stayed in a delux room on the first floor looking out over the water which was lovely.
The room was large and the bed very comfortable. There was some noise from partygoers into the night, but this did not disturb us too much. The bathroom was on the small side, but perfectly adequate.
Location great as per previous reviews.
Inclusive dinner in the restaurant was excellent.
Would definately use this hotel if staying in Bristol again.

Room Tip: Perhaps rooms on the higher floors would hear less noise in the evening

Stayed here for one night on a sweets and wine deal. I emailed the hotel before we arrived and asked for a room on an upper floor overlooking the waterfront, and that's exactly what we got. The welcome from the staff was excellent - very professional and friendly. The room was fantastic. A great size with a huge bed, two armchairs, table, plus a writing desk, flat screen TV, coffee machine....and more. A full size ironing board and iron was provided, as well as a hairdryer. The usual range of complimentary toiletries, as well as bathrobes and slippers, made the whole experience one of luxury and comfort. The bed was probably the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!
We had room service and the food was outstanding - if a little meagre on the portion size (this is the only criticism I would have of my stay, but as everything else was so good I will still give it five stars!)
Complimentary marshmallows and chocolate dipping sauce were gorgeous, as was the chilled bubbly. Both delivered to the room on request.
This was my first visit to Bristol city, and to this hotel. I loved both and will definitely be coming back again for a longer stay.

The reason for our stay was a company Christmas dinner which we decided to use as an excuse for a weekend in Bristol. My wife and I chose this hotel as we stayed there previously 2 years before. Our room was on the top floor and was overlooking the waterfront. Quite expensive at £145 for 1 night including breakfast but it was exactly the room we requested so no complaints. If you like a very quiet and peaceful sleep I would suggest having a room on the other side of the hotel away from the nightclubs and bars. We think the bit of noise is a small price to pay for a waterside room and it certainly wasnt a problem for us. On arrival the receptionist was very helpful and allowed us to check in early. She also informed us that there was only one lift working and gave us a drinks voucher by way of compensation. As it was only a short stay it didnt cause us any serious problems although we were lucky being on the top floor as the lift was always empty on the downward journey but stopped at every other floor where we were greeted by crowds of annoyed people who couldnt get in. THe lifts only hold 4 people comfortably!!The room was clean and finished to a good standard but having stayed in the same room 2 years previously we were a bit disapointed that things had deteriorated. The coffee maker was unusable as the water tank was filthy and the display box for the coffee capsules was broken (gave the impression that things had slipped) the wash basin in the bathroom was cracked and the shower screen was loose. We had breakfast in the overflow room as the main restaurant overlooking the water front was full. Breakfast was very good and plentiful and the service was exceptional. The hostess deserves praise. My review may not read very positively but we really did enjoy our stay as Bristol is a fantastic City in which to spend some time and the Bristol Hotel is a pleasent if not outstanding hotel. Overall the hotel is good but has slipped from exceptional. Staff and service are very helpful and efficient. We had a night cap in the hotel bar after returning from our evening out. The bar was not overly crowded but as there was only one person on duty (11:30pm) tables were not being cleared of glasses and plates making the place look uncared for and dirty. The price we paid was probably too high for what we got and we will probably look else where next time. This is not because it was bad but simply because there are a lot of quality hotels in the area we would like to try instead.

Room Tip: For views choose a waterside view but for quiet night choose the other sideof the hotel

Dear MikeCCFC

Thank you for taking the time to complete an online review.
I would like to assure you that we welcome your feedback both positive and negative and as we are a learning organisation we appreciate all feedback and find it very valuable in moving forward and improving the service that we provide to our guests. At The Bristol Hotel, we take great pride in the individual, friendly and courteous service that we provide to all our guests, ensuring that their comfort and care are at the forefront of what we do.
In regards to the lift, I do understand your frustration and I can only apologize for the inconveniences caused to you. As per the letter received on check in unfortunately we had a big challenge with the lift and we did our best to rectify the issue. I'm sure that you will understand that this was beyond our control as we could not prevent that. Our lift company is waiting for a part and as a goodwill gesture to all our guest we have offered a complimentary drink which was well appreciated by many guest as in most hotel when things like this happen you only get an apology.

In regards to the room and the bar, I have gone through your points in detail with my maintenance Manager , Bar manager and Housekeeping Manager to find out the reasons for the inexcusable lapse and re-training has been highlighted as a priority to avoid a repeat of these challenges. We have high standards here at the Bristol hotel and I apologise that they were not adhered to on this occasion.

Once again I would like to apologise on behalf of the hotel and thank you for making us aware of the issues that you experienced. I hope that you will give us the opportunity to regain your confidence in The Bristol Hotel, please contact myself directly to ensure a pleasant stay.
I look forward to seeing you back with us in the near future.

Kind regards,

Raphael Herzog

Dear Silihol,

Thank you for leaving a review for the Bristol Hotel,

We are delighted you enjoyed our memory foam beds, they seem to be a winner with the majority of our guests.
It is also very pleasing that you specifically remembered one of our Bar team, they get a great boost when mentioned!!

We hope to welcome you back to the hotel in the not too distant future,

sincerely
