The hotel is ok.
The room is good and large enough, but the bathroom is too small. We had difficult to enter and to sit on the sanitary, because of the door, and we are thin.
The employees were very helpful and kind.
We recomend this hotel.

Just had a wonderful stay in central Bristol at the Bristol Hotel. We were celebrating my husband's birthday so this hotel was the obvious choice for a night on the town. We had a fabulous meal in the River Grille restaturant which has lovely views across the river. This was fine dining at its best. The restaurant staff were excellent and very pleasant. There were many bars and restaurants at a short walk from the hotel (3mins).

The bedroom was beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe bedroom that overlooked the water. Again, the views were amazing at night. The bed was so comfortable. There was a coffee maker in the bedroom which provided delicious expresso coffees. There was also a kettle and plenty of tea, coffee, sugar etc. In the bathroom, there was a good choice of products. There was also a large TV. The room was spotless.

Breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice eg. hot full english breakfast or crossants, doughnuts, fruit, cereal, toast etc. The staff were all very friendly and could not have been more helpful. I could not fault this hotel! Well done.

Room Tip: Ask for a room overlooking the river if you want the views but there may be a bit of noise from local bars, although I never experienced this. The rooms overlooking the road will probably be more quiet as there is little traffic during the night.

We stayed at the Bristol Hotel for one night on a Saturday to see some friends in the city.
I searched online for a good long while to find a hotel with a bit of character instead of the cheap and nasty chain places.
Well we certainly found it here!
Lovely atmosphere, clean rooms, nice facilities (a coffee machine in our room!), helpful staff, I could go on.
It is not cheap but its only as expensive as most city centre hotels and to be fair you get what you pay for.
The only slight issue was the hotel only has stairs through the car park and as I have a bit of a phobia of lifts this meant it was a bit of a trek to get to our room (on the 6th floor!) in fairness I would make sure to request a ground floor room if I stayed in future to get round this.
Breakfast was lovely with a pianist and a view across the water, room was quiet, slap bang in the middle of everything.
Thoroughly recommended.

This was our second visit to the Bristol Hotel, and we will be back again! We stayed only one night - to see a band playing in Bristol - and chose this hotel firstly because of its location, on the waterfront and just over a footbridge to numerous bars and restaurants, the fact that there is an NCP Car Park next door which is free for guests at weekends, and of course because of the overall experience of staying in the hotel itself. Although our initial room on the waterfront was a bit small, there was no issue in us transferring to a larger room on the road-side of the hotel. The rooms are all tastefully furnished, spotlessly clean and offer all the facilities, even down to a decent hairdryer! The staff couldn't be more courteous and helpful. Although only there for one night - we came away feeling we had had a full weekend break away. Thank you so much to all at the hotel!

Room Tip: Rooms on the road-side are larger, but that is countered by noise from traffic. Having said that - the windows are double glazed!

Dear Claire H,

It is pleasing to read you had an “ excellent stay".

We are a good base when visiting bands, bars or restaurants near the harbour because of our central location......and I guess the free car parking also helps!!

thank you for the review,

Well situated on the water front in the centre of Bristol, this hotel gives a great welcome with very positive and helpful reception and restaurant staff. The building looks typical of those built in the latter part of the 20th Century, and is now showing its age particularly in the bedroom and bathroom fixtures and fittings, some of which were insecure (taps and shower fittings) which I would not expect to see in accommodation in this price bracket. There was no suitcase stand and the tea bar was well concealed in a cupboard. Internal refurbishment is now due and the glitter with which it was built is beginning to fade. We didn't try the swimming pool or spa.
